Super Reunion

SUJU gathered around the family restaurant that they frequented when they were still in Uni. The ajumma happily gave them the same kind of treatment she used to give them when they were still a bunch of noisy college students.

She was so proud of the group picture that had Siwon in it. She said that there were so many fans of his who ask her if she knew him personally. And she had told each one of them how he liked his side dishes and what he was really like as a regular man. Siwon teased her that she was his most important fan aside from eomma since they were the first two. Sungmin looked around his friends and was happy to see everyone. Heechul was unusually quiet and Sungmin was not about to bring up the IG photo. He never liked confrontations and he was not going to start changing that now.

"You guys still haven't told us why you are all in the Uni and talking to Tao earlier." Sungmin was promised explanations and he didn't care much for waiting.

"We are on vacation," EunHae answered in unison.

"My company sent me over for a couple of days." Han Geng said hurriedly.

"I am visiting my family. It's been a while." Henry didn't know what else to say. Though his entire family was abroad.

Zhou smiled slowly and said, "I was thinking of getting some modeling done here. China's getting too old for me."

"They all figured it was a good idea to come by and see you," Kangin said, his voice strained.

"And I needed to tell you something important. Like I am NOT gay." Heechul's comment and raised-eyebrow made Sungmin want to laugh. He looked like a woman who was reprimanding her boyfriend but his statement was contradictory. "I may cross-dress in the past but that was fan service. And just so you know in some cultures, kissing a man is not a big deal."

Sungmin looked at the faces around him and didn't seem to care if they all just came back because they were on some random stop on their trip in their lives It was because of Tao that he saw his friends again. "Why didn't you tell me that you guys were coming?"

Yesung jumped in, "We wanted to surprise you. We all knew you can't bend your class schedule so we figured going to see you in SMUni was hitting two birds with one stone."

The rest chimed in their agreement. Sungmin knew something was up. They've always shared a lot of times together but it was always chaotic. They never agreed on something unless there was something to cover up.

"They went home because of this." Siwon, of course, couldn't stand the lying and showed Sungmin the screen cap. He didn't want to show the tweet itself because his fans went rabid on it. Siwon had asked his fans not to cause any trouble and it was just his friend saying something private to him but forgot to DM it. His agent did know Sungmin personally so he didn't want to drag him into the issue. Though the issue was him and his supposed crying.

Sungmin's eyes were wide due to shock.  His happiness in seeing his friends shattered like glass. "So you are really here because I caused trouble for Siwon?" He was humiliated and he didn't want to face his friends at the moment. He wanted to stand up but his knees were suddenly weak from finding out that the happy reunion he thought this was, was actually just a confrontation. "You...you guys didn't have to waste money just to come here. Si-siwon could have asked me about it and I-I could have told him that he was wrong. That I was-wasn't crying be-because yu-you guys me-made me..." but this time he was. And he wanted to dry his tears but they all know from experience that he couldn't.

No one could say anything. The happy reunion they also hoped for made the tweet real. They did make Sungmin cry.

"Hyung..." Henry wanted to console him but Sungmin flinched when his dongsaeng tried to reach out to him.

"I forgot...I have a class..." Sungmin ran out of the restaurant.

Heechul stood up and faced the others. "Stay here. I'll bring him back." They were worried about Sungmin and wondered if they too should just leave but decided that Heechul might just be the best person to clear out all the misunderstanding.

The ajumma who ran the store saw Sungmin leaving and placed the food they ordered on the table with a sober face. "He went here every day for weeks, ate lunch here, and sat at a corner with another cup of rice in front of him untouched. Like he was waiting for someone to come and share the meal with him. I would ask him if he wanted me to put it in a to-go container but he would just shake his head, pay for the two meals, and leave with barely any food touched. It was like he was like a husband who just lost a wife and he was keeping her place on the dinner table because he didn't want to accept that she was no longer there to share his meals with him."

Donghae started to cry. Eunhyuk knew he would be inconsolable like Sungmin. They all didn't know. Kangin felt ashamed that he didn't know. The ones who were living and working in Korea thought he was doing fine. They have become so busy with their own jobs and their own lives that they had forgotten to check up on their friend beyond what was on his blog or his news feed. Beyond what he liked and his current DP. Unlike them, Sungmin had long removed his Twitter account because he was traumatized by a hacker and a stalker. But now they wondered if the technology they relied on so much could have been the real reason why they were so comfortable not trying to hear his voice or really asking him how he was. Sungmin never could lie to them if they were face to face. He might have been one of the older members but he was always the one who felt the most, suffered on his own the most. He didn't want to burden anyone and his tears, though very rarely are they seen, almost always signifies that he was already on his limit.

They didn't know how to make their friend stop crying anymore. There might just be one person who can find a way.

Siwon sent a DM to Tao. Sungmin is crying. Help us find him. We are at Hannah's Joint.

The rest of them could do nothing but wait. Heechul would not forgive them if they interfered. Sungmin's face haunted them all.

Donghae rang Kyu via Line. He didn't know what to say to their friend. They might have ruined everything for KyuMin. What hope did they have of helping their friend?

Groggy but trying to stay awake, Kyuhyun answered the call. "Are you with him?" was the first thing he asked.

"We made him cry again." Donghae's voice broke so he had to give the phone to Eunhyuk.

"Heechul is coming after him to talk to him. He misunderstood why we all went to see him. He thinks it's because we were doing damage control. He ran off. Heechul said to wait for him to bring him back."

Kyuhyun instinctively nodded. "Hyung would be able to handle it. I am sure of it. I believe in him."

"Let's hope they can talk long enough for Heechul to explain the picture and that Sungmin doesn't wushu his ass if he gets pissed." Ryeowook tried to make a joke. No one laughed.

This was not the reunion they all wanted to happen.
