My eyes shoot open and I am in front of my bed yanking at the arm in front me while twisting the persons body.My body now behind them with my arm wrapped around their neck. Chuckles are heard and I release knowing who it is.

"I'm glad you haven't lost your touch." My uncle says while rubbing his neck.

"Thank you uncle" I said while looking down. "What time is it?"

"It's 5:30 in the morning. You slept through dinner last night and Cara told me not to wake you." I chuckle knowing she knows me all to well. "We will start your training, I'll give you 10 minutes. I will wait outside the door. " Not giving me a minute to say anything back he abruptly leaves the room. Going to the dresser, I pull out my black leggings and black Nike sports bra and put them on. Throwing on some sneakers, I run to the bathroom to brush my teeth and hair before putting my hair up into a tight bun. I walk to my door and open it.

He pushes off the door and begins walking away. I follow behind him enjoying the quietness the morning brings. My sisters were still asleep and from what I can hear from Cara's room... snoring loudly.

We walk down to the basement where I feel the temperature drop a couple of degrees. My uncle's footsteps stop. I stop walking and wait to hear instructions. Instead I feel movement causing me turn abruptly and punch into a hard gut. The unknown person doubles over and fall to their knees groaning.

"How did you know he was behind you?" My uncle ask.

"I felt the shift in the air, and he also has an odor that wasn't natural to the room." I answer turning back to him. Turning back to the crippled person, "I'm sorry for hitting you... sneaking up on me is never going to end well."

"Noted" The guy says getting up off his knees still sounding winded. He smelt like sandalwood.

"Eva, I would like for you to meet Lucas, he is my driver and close friend. Lucas this is my eldest niece Eva."

I turn back to him and outstretch my hand for him to take. "Hi Lucas, its nice to meet you."

"Same here Ma'm." He says shaking my hand.

I shake my head before returning back to my uncle. I hate when people refer to me as ma'm but I know they are just trying to be respectful so I resist the urge to correct him. My uncle is no longer standing in front of me.

"Eva, come this way were going to start in the ring." I nod my head and begin walking towards his voice. I feel Lucas begin walking beside me. He begins walking faster and places his hand on my shoulder to stop me. I stop and feel him put his hand out for me to guide me up the stairs into the ring. Once I'm in, my body begins stretching while listening to my uncle mumble some things to Lucas discreetly. I stand up and my uncle comes back to me.

"Alright Eva, what all do you remember from our previous training?" He asks while he begins circling me like I'm a prey about to be pounced on. I thought about what all he taught me when I first lost my sight, how he got me backup and moving when I felt the urge to give up. How he taught me that my other senses would increase which they did. "Use everything to your advantage, blindness does not make you weak... Only you can make you weak." My uncles words replayed in my head.

"I still have my boxing training, mix martial arts and defensive techniques. I still am working on my gun work however have trained extensively with knives." He stops walking and comes to whisper in my ear.

"Let's see what you can do."

The next hour and a half we did a lot of mix training. He had me doing laps around the gym to weight lifting followed by boxing and last was martial arts. He told me it was best to leave fighting til the end to teach me how to reserve my energy until it is required. He always had a good way of training me even when I was a child. He taught me how to retrain my body to get around without bumping into everything or having my hands out while I walk. He taught me how to look as if I wasn't blind. It no longer felt as a weakness because now I can do things not many people can. I lay down in the middle of the box ring right next to where Lucas is also resting.

"I got to say, I didn't believe you would be able to keep up with me or your uncle. I'm quite impressed." Lucas says while taking a gush of water from his bottle.

"Thank you however its needed so I will continue to push myself... so don't hold back on me." I say pushing myself onto my elbows still laying on ground.

"I'll remember that-"

"Lucas, go get ready. We needed to leave for the office in 30 minutes." My uncle interrupts Lucas. "Eva, go upstairs and get ready, I believe your sisters are wanting to go out for today."

I push myself up and begin walking out of the ring. Their eyes following me while I head back upstairs. Although the training was what I needed, I can honestly say Lucas got a few good hits on me causing my ribs to feel tender to the touch.

I reach my room and walk to the bathroom beginning to shed my sweat covered pants and sports bra. After getting in the shower, I stand there and allow the water to fall down me allowing my muscles to relax. Taking a few deep breaths before choosing to climb out, I begin getting ready for a day with my sisters. I put on some ripped jeans and a long sleeve blouse that dips at my cleavage. I gently brush my hair and let it fall into its natural waves before heading towards my sisters.

"Sis, you look gorgeous!" Leila squeals running to attack me in a hug. I hug her back and kiss the top of her head.

"Damn sis, I didn't even get a chance to dress you." Cara says pouting. I smile when she walks up to me and links my arm with hers. "Shall we ladies?" She ask already leading us out of the house. This is going to be long a day.
