Chapter 3: First Conversation.

“Fratello, which do you think suits me? The black or the gold?” Margaux asked, she is showing me a two pairs of shoes.

“Oro” I simply answered and pointed the gold one. (Trans: Gold)

“Okay,” she gave the shoes to Tomas and checks the other shoes on the next shelf. I only followed her doing nothing and answering her questions which I don’t really paid attention to. There are only few customers inside the shop. I guess it’s because of my men.

“Sir, have you found anything interesting?” the saleswoman asked.

“I’m fine,” I grunted.

“I’m sure we have something that can capture your interests. Do you want me to show you?” she said seductively as her eyes roam around my body.

“I don’t want anything.

“Miss, that also means fuck off so you better go away and for your information my brother’s past girlfriends are an international model, a Victoria’s secret angel, a Hollywood star and the daughter of an Italian international businessman and I don’t think you can be the next in line,” Margaux snapped. The saleswoman is very frustrated and she looks like she’s going to cry. She stormed out of the shop.

“I don’t remember to have those girlfriends,” I said.

“That’s not the right words, Fratello. It should be “Grazie Margaux for saving me from the claws of the slut” She was flirting with you,” she rolled her eyes.

“Then Grazie, she looks like she’s about to cry,”

“If she doesn’t want to be confronted like that she shouldn’t wear those kinds of clothes. Perbacco! Her boobs and butt are already showing off, it’s like she’s wearing a piece of face towel,” she rambled, “Good thing you don’t go for those kinds of girls.” (Trans: Gosh)

And there she goes again, feisty but brilliant.

“Boss!” Gino suddenly called as he is running to us.

“Gino, te non dovere grido,” my sister complained. My men can understand and they knew how to speak Italian. (Trans: You don’t have to shout)

“My deepest apologies, Signorina,” he bowed and he immediately faced me, “Boss, we just spotted Jackson here on the mall!”(Trans: Young Lady)

“Who’s Jackson?” Margaux asked curiously.

“Jackson must be captured! Go and find him, we need him alive!” Tomas instructed my men and they immediately complied.

“Gino, lead Margaux to the car and go home right away. Stay with her all the times!” I commanded him.

“Yes Boss!

“Tomas, let’s go,” we followed to where Jackson is as we walk briskly the people who are on the mall in the moment stared and murmured since we are making a big commotion.

“There he is!” one of my men shouted and pointed the direction of Jackson.

Jackson saw us and he ran away instantly. He shoved away the other people so that they can make him a way. My men ran after him and they are now chasing him inside the mall. That prick decided to shop before flying the country, huh. Stupido. (Trans: stupid)

“Tanya after we eat let’s go to Forever 21, I want to buy new clothes. You should buy some too,” Olivia said. We are currently at the Pizza shop eating some pepperoni pizza at the mall.

“Sure,” I agreed. Shopping isn’t fun for me since I don’t have the chance to see the things I bought so I often shop. It is always Olivia who shops for me because Dad has a bad taste, as Olivia said.

“Let’s invite Darren sometimes,” she said.

“Sure.

“Are you alright?” she asked.

“Yeah, it’s just that I’m not comfortable with the crowds,” I replied.

“That’s because you are not used to go outside of your house. Socializing is important,” she stated.

“That’s hard when you’re blind,” I muttered.

“You’re friendly and sweet, I’m sure people will love you.

“Yeah, if they accept me,”

“Don’t talk like that!” she snarled as she slap slightly my shoulder, “If they judge you just because your blind and not trying for knowing you, I’ll give them a pretty big piece of my mind.

I smiled. Olivia can really be protective over me. I’m so lucky to have a best friend like her but sometimes I wanted to protect her too.

“Are you done?” I asked her.

“Yes, let’s pay at the cashier,” she replied. She held my hand and led me to the cahier so that she can pay. While she was paying I heard some yelling and loud commotion.

“I think they were chasing a thief,” Olivia said.

“Here’s your change ma’am,” I heard a woman said. I guess that’s the person at the cash register.

“Thank you. Let’s go Tanya,” she held my hand tightly and walked me out of the pizza shop.

Then suddenly someone bumped into me. Due to the impact I let go of Olivia’s grasps and fell to the ground with the person who collided with me. My head hurts from the hard fall.

“Ow,” I groaned.

“Shit,” the person said who is now I know a man.

“Hey! You stupid prick don’t you watch where you fucking running?!” my friend bawled out and I heard some whacking. I think she is hitting him with all her might.

“Stop it, woman!” the man shouted and I heard a loud thud.

“Olivia!” I called with worry.

“I’m fine, I’m fine,” she confirmed.

I heard some stomping of the feet, there are so many people running. Are they the police? Is the man who bumped me a thief? I have a bad feeling about it.

“Are you alright?” someone asked. It is a man with a low and husky voice. I felt a hand in my arm that helped me to stand up.

“Yeah, I’m fine,” I answered softly.

“You got a bruise in your hand,” he took my left hand I think he was checking it. Now that he said it, my head hurts from the fall but I’m fine already. My hands are completely fine but maybe there’s a small scratch in there.

“It’s just a scratch, thank you,” I slowly took my hand away from him.

“Sir, they already captured him,” another voice said.

“Si,” the man answered.

I extended my hand and I touch nothing. The presence of the man has already gone that only means that he left already.

“Tanya!” the familiar voice said, “Are you alright?

“Yeah I am Olivia,” I smiled.

“Your bag fell,” she gave me my shoulder bag that I just realized that it was gone from where it should be, “Those guys are scary. It gives me goose bumps. I’ve already lost interest in shopping, let’s just go home.” She grabbed my hand and held it tightly as we started to walk.

“I also want that,” I replied, “So did the police capture the criminal?” I inquired.

“Those were not police. They were wearing suits and ties and they are really scary. They seems a bad news to me,” she explained.

When I arrived home I headed to bed instantly. It was a tiring day. What happened earlier is just one of my explanations why I hate to go outside. If I was able to see maybe I can prevent colliding into someone. There are so many maybes that I’ve been thinking, but one thing that stayed to my mind is maybe if I can see.

Walking slowly to the creepy alley where you wouldn’t like to go. The night is already long but to us our day just only began. Tomas, Renard and Gino are on my tracks to go where the bastard is.

“Boss, he’s still not talking,” Matt informed.

Jackson is covered with his blood, lying in the cold hard ground but still breathing. To what I can see he has been injured severely. Renard and Matt held him to make him stand.

“B-Boss,” Jackson grinned, some of his teeth were already gone.

“Aren’t you getting tired of this?” I asked boring my cold eyes on him.

“I like the pain,” his laughed echoes in the silent street. Matt punched his stomach hard.

“I’ll spare your life if you’re going to speak.

He chuckled, “I know you will not. I heard what you did to Montley and I know you will do the same to me either I tell it or not.

“Then you’re saying that I’ll get nothing from you?

“Niente,” he firmly answered. I grabbed my gun and pointed at him then click it. The loud noise from my gun echoes around. He is now lying dead on the ground and his blood started to leak. (Trans: Nothing)

“Boss, what are we going to do now?” Renard asked.

“Search in their houses, I don’t care about the money just give me the hard drive,” I ordered them. They answered yes in chorus and disperse right away.

I went back to my car and as usual Tomas is the one who is driving. I took out my cigarette to calm my angry nerves. I’ve been calm in this situation but since Jackson didn’t say anything too I don’t think I can control my anger anymore.

“Sir, I know this is not the right moment to say but Signorina Margaux said that you call her immediately and if you will not Sir the first thing that you will see in the tomorrow morning will be her gorgeous face,” Tomas informed me.

“I bet those are the exact words she said,” he nodded, “And I bet that is not a good thing too.

“I don’t like to be rude, Sir, but Signorina Margaux is pretty scary when she is angry,” Tomas shared.

I chuckled. He’s right Margaux can be frightening when she is very angry. That is one of the genes that runs in the family. I dialled her phone number and on the first ring she instantly answered.

There was a silence.

“I have an explanation why I ditched you,” I replied to her silent question.

“And it is better be good,” she said with a touch of coldness from her tone.

“It’s about work and we’re chasing the guy who betrayed us----,”

“I don’t care about that fottere person!” she exasperated while interrupting me. (Trans: Fuck)

“Watch your mouth, Margaux,” I reprimanded.

“Fratello, I’m just worried about you,” she breathed, “I know your job is very dangerous but I’m still your sister and I have all the rights to be worried to you. I’m not angry at you for ditching me.

“Oh, really?” I asked unconvinced.

“A little, just a little,” she sighed.

“I’m alright, you can stop worrying now,” I assured her, “Let’s just go out next time again and I promise there will be no more nuisance anymore.

“Okay, I keep that in mind,” she said cheerfully, “Ti amo e ciao.” (Trans: I love you and goodbye.)

“Ciao,” and I ended the line, “Women,” I sighed. (Trans: Goodbye)

Tomas chuckled.
