"Just move in already!" I whined at Irene who just looked like she didn't care.

"No."

"Move in! You can have any room you want, any bed."

"You know I don't feel comfortable on any bed except mine."

"So how do you expect me to move around?!" I rolled my eyes.

"I think we should get you a new assistant." Irene suggested.

"No, absolutely not. Nobody's replacing Steve." I immediately decline.

"Relax. I already called some people over for an interview." Irene smirked.

"What!" I yelled. "You invited people for an interview? Without informing me?" I questioned in a harsh tone.

"You should relax Marie," Irene said in a soothing voice.

That's the thing about her, she is never intimidated by me. Ever.

"Should I tell them to not bother?" Irene asked.

"What's the use when you already invited them."

"I thought so too." She smiled in defeat.

When we got to the house, we decided to just start with the interview so we could get it over with.

"But it's not even time yet." Irene complained.

"Those that are serious about it are supposed to be here already."

"There are only six people here, out of ten."

"Then those four are disqualified. Let's begin."

Irene opened her mouth to complain but ended up doing as I said.

The first applicant was a middle aged man with a black suit on, his hair was partially white. Before he could say anything, I dismissed him. He reminded me too much of Steve.

After dismissing the sixth person for him picking his nose right in front of me, I began to feel extremely tired.

"Call out the others already, I'm tired." I complained.

"There are no others because you didn't like any that we interviewed." Irene shouted.

"Oh?" I ask nonchalantly. "I guess there's nothing else to do here, so I'll just-"

"I'm sorry I'm late!" A voice echoced in the living room as a guy slid into my living room, causing him to lose his balance.

"Minus one for tardiness." I strictly announced as he sat in a stool in front of Irene and I.

"I'm sorry miss." He replied immediately while trying to adjust his tie.

I rolled my eyes, this won't work. Even only my legs could walk properly, I would have walked out of here a long time ago.

"Why would you want to work here?" Irene asked the guy.

"I've got nowhere to go, I desperately need the money."

The nerve of this boy, telling me straight to my face that he's doing this for money.

"...and I want her to shine." He finished.

My eyes flicker from the floor to his face, "What did you just say?"

"I said I want to see you shine. I want to see you shine brightly-"

"I want to see you shine brightly Miss Curtis." Steve's voice played Over in my head.

"Get out." I calmly said.

He looked up at me, "What?"

"I said get out! Now!" I said, louder, facing him.

He reluctantly got up from his stool and then he shot me a malicious glare.

"Everyone said she was insane but I still came here." He murmured to himself but loud enough for me to hear.

"Hey!" I called out to him. "What did you call me?!" I yelled.

"Mad! I called you mad!" He shot back making faces at me.

"How dare you!" I shouted and got up to chase him but he ended up running away.

"Marie!" Irene exclaimed.

"What! I'm trying murder someone!" I shouted.

"You're standing by yourself!" She smiled while I looked at my current position.

I'm really standing by myself.

"Marie, reconsider. Just look at the effect this young man has on your body!" She partially begged.

"You're just saying that because you don't want to live with me." I shook my head.

"Marie deep down you know that what I'm saying is true, you can't deny it." She replied. "And also because I miss my bed." She added.

"Fine. Call him back." I finally gave in.

"Great choice Marie!"

I sighed as I fell on my soft sofa, and held my head because I felt like everything was spinning.

Later in the evening as I relaxed on my bed, Irene joined me with a grin plastered on her face causing me to roll my eyes.

"Your new employee is now settled in," Irene informed.

"You're just happy that you don't have to stay here anymore." I countered.

"Is it that obvious?" She asked, her grin still not leaving her face.

"Duh." I replied making a funny face.

"Well I'm leaving," Irene announced patting her pale face.

"Sure, run to your house." I replied sarcastically.

After she left, I took a nap and had to go to the bathroom but my legs decided to fail me. I grabbed the emergency remote but quickly dropped it back.

"I don't need him." I assured myself.

So I slowly moved from the bed and stood bent, but still standing.

"I'm getting the han-" I couldn't complete as I went stumbling down, but my hands caught the remote and I immediately pressed the big red button.

I believe I've been waiting on the floor for over one hour, but yet this assistant isn't here yet!

"Miss Marie!" Someone called in a shrill voice.

Mr assistant finally decided to answer my call now.

He picked me up and placed me carefully on the bed but my eyes burned with rage.

"Where the hell have you been?" I questioned.

"It's four in the morning, I was asleep and I couldn't make out where the sound was coming from. Where did you want to go?" He answered me with a question.

"Bathroom." I answered.

"Did you.." He raised his brow and u got what he was hinting at.

"What? No! Why would I pee on myself!" My cheeks turned pink.

"No need to get defensive then, let's go." He said with a hint of amusement in his voice.

I hit his hand away with my cane. He brought it forward again and I took it.
