Chapter 4

THE KITCHEN feels like a very small, confined space contrary to its actual size. Raia blows a breath as she finished with her paella.

"What's with you? You've been blowing a loud breath since we entered here." Treyson said behind her.

Raia didn't even look at him as she remove her mittens.

"The kitchen feels so small with you around. I can't move properly." Raia answered honestly.

Treyson's brows furrowed. "And why is that?"

"That I don't know." Raia shrugged as she look at the dishes in front of her.

All Spanish. From the appetizers to the main course down to the dessert. And with a satisfied smile, she turned to face Treyson.

"Whom did you learn to cook from, anyway?" Treyson asked out of curiosity. He's been watching Raia as she move around the kitchen. She moves impeccably and gracefully around the kitchen as if it's her domain.

'She really is like a butler.'

Treyson smiled to himself at the thought.

"From the Queen." She answered as she arrange the dishes to be serve.

"Queen?" Treyson asked in confusion.

Raia look at him funny.

"Your Mom. The Queen of the household." She answered nonchalantly as she get back to arranging the dishes.

"You address my Mom 'Queen'? Why?"

"I don't know what to call her." Raia shrugged.

"Just call her 'Mom'."

"But she's not my Mom. And I'm not a Quintana."

"But-" Treyson cut off his words, didn't know what to say next.

Sinking Raia's words into him, Treyson just look at her, rooted at his spot. He doesn't know how to react at what she said.

"Help me set the table?" Raia asked with a sweet smile plastered on her face.

Treyson stood frozen, once again, on his spot. His eyes held hers, and he was drawn again. He have seen the most beautiful eyes the world have to offer. But Raia's eyes were his favorite.

Raia pouted when Treyson didn't respond at her.

"It's okay if you don't want." And she began to take the dishes out of the kitchen. As she carefully walk towards the long table at the center, she felt Treyson walk beside her holding a pot. Raia suppressed a smile that was about to stretch her lips, at the same time a warm feeling spread through her. She don't want Treyson to know the effect he has on her.

As they both set down the dishes down the table, the whole Quintana household stepped inside the restaurant. The two immediately went to greet the newcomers.

"Hi, good evening." Raia greeted the Queen and the King.

"How are you, dear? I suppose you're not tiring yourself here, yeah?" The ever caring Mrs. Quintana asked her. Raia kissed the Queen and the latter hold her at arms-length.

"I'm okay. I have all the help I can get so, don't worry about me." She smiled sweetly at the Queen of the household. "Take a seat. We'll be done in a minute."

Raia bowed her head before leaving them and proceed with setting the table. Treyson walk with her to the kitchen making her brows furrow.

"What are you doing?" She didn't help but asked.

"Helping you?" Treyson said unsure.

"You should settle with the others. I can handle this."

"I'll help you." Treyson said his voice holds arguments unwelcome, making Raia sigh. With that being said, the two set the table. And after a couple of minutes setting the table, she announced their dinner.

As the whole household settle down the table, Raia sat down on the seat next to Treyson without realizing she's beside him. And when she turned to her left and welcomed by the sight of Treyson, she didn't notice the smile that crept her lips.

"How's school, Raia?" Said Alon, the King of the household, taking her attention away from Treyson.

"It's fine, Sir." Raia answered, smiling politely. "I have a lot of things to do, but I can manage. One at a time."

"You're doing a lot of school stuff and still manage to help here." Yvonne stated as a matter of fact. "Are you sure you're not taking your studies for granted?"

Raia knows where the worry on Yvonne's voice is coming from. And she's thankful that someone's actually worried about her.

"Yeah, of course." She smiled at the latter. "I have time. I can manage it properly. Plus, I want to keep myself busy."

"Isn't school keeping you busy enough?" Duke butted in.

"Nope." Raia shrugged. "School stuffs are done during school hours. And other stuff outside school are done outside school. And I'm used to it. Being busy."

All eyes are settled on her with admiration. Especially the pair of eyes beside her.

"If you ever need anything, don't hesitate to tell us, okay?" Quade said with a gentle smile on his lips.

"Yeah, sure."

Their dinner carried on with them talking about random things. Not until Treyson opened up a certain topic that consumed them.

"Mom, Raia said you taught her how to cook?" It was more of a statement than a question.

Raia flinched. She snapped her attention towards the man beside her.

"Yes. Since she was always in the kitchen whenever I'm there." Oceania's eyes trailed on her but her attention was still on Treyson.

The Queen of the household smiled knowingly, remembering how the little Raia will always climb at the island counter and wait for her until finishes cooking. And so, she taught her everything there is to know in the kitchen.

"And her first dish was Paella, your favorite." The Queen wink at her son. Treyson chuckled at his Mom as he turned to look at the young lady beside him.

"The Paella is great." Treyson's teased her. She felt her cheeks heat up at what he said making her eyes look away from him. And she can feel the heat spreading to her face and ears.

'Calm the fuck down, Raia.' She reprimanded herself. 'It's just a compliment.'

Raia subtly let out a long breathe to calm herself. And it took her a couple of minutes to do so. Just to be teased again by the princes.

"You're face is red, Raia." North said innocently.

"So was your ears." Duke seconded with a knowing smile. "You okay?"

"Yeah." She answered audibly, hiding her face. She heard a collective chuckles from the table. And as the dinner went on, she was the receiving end of their teasing.

"THANK YOU, Dana." Raia smiled as she bid goodbye at Dana who helped her do the chores after dinner.

"Sure, sure." Dana was suppressing her giggles but to no avail. "I got to see the Norse God of the Sea, so it's really cool."

Raia playfully rolled her eyes at her.

"Dana!" Her time is reprimanding but she has this smile that contradicts her tone. "Go get your ass out of here!"

"Oh, you want the Norse God of the Sea all by yourself?" Dana teased her.

Raia took a threatening step towards Dana, making the latter run for her life. She can hear the laughter from her when she's by the door.

"I'll see you tomorrow, Raia!" Dana yelled as she wave her hand to her.

"See you." Raia replied as she wave her hand. She went to double check everything when Dana was out of her sight. And when everything is secured, she walked out the restaurant, ready to go home.

"Thank goodness you're done." Treyson said in relief. "Are you always up at this hour?"

"Nope. Just on few occasions. Like now. Since it's your first dinner with us." Raia said as she walk towards him. The latter opened the door for her to settle in.

Treyson went in the driver's seat when she got in. And as soon as he was behind the wheel, they moved into the road.

"Does this happen everytime?" Treyson asked, making a conversation.

"Once a week. Family time." She answered as she feasted her eyes on the man beside him. She was staring at him in the middle of the dim light inside the car. He has this profile that even if it's only silhouette you're seeing, he can make you drool. And she got to see that up close.

"Is it always on the restaurant?" Treyson didn't notice the worry on his voice. Raia smiled.

"No. Maybe the Queen knew that I'm there to suggest that we'll have dinner there."

Treyson rendered speechless for a couple of minutes. Raia on the other hand didn't bother to took her eyes away from him.

"If you call my parents the King and Queen of the household. That makes us?"

"The princes, of course." Raia said as if it was a no-brainer question.

"And Yvonne?"

"Quintana's Princess."

"Why can't you just call is the normal way?"

"That's normal for me. And besides, I've learned everything there is to learn about your family. So, it suits you all to be called that way."

"So you knew our family history, huh?" Treyson asked with a hint of smile in his voice.

"But of course." Raia answered matching his voice. She feels proud of herself with the knowledge.

"And that makes you?"

"The butler?" Raia chuckled at her own response.

"Well, if that's the case. You're one impeccable butler, milady." The address was said playfully.

And Raia being playful herself, she matched him, not wanting to disappoint.

"But of course. A suitable butler for a fine family, my lord."

And they were both end up chuckling at their conversation. It was one great ride home. And Raia didn't lose her smile until they reach the household.

"I had a great time." Treyson said as they both enter the huge house.

"That's good to hear." She smiled at her as she stopped on her tracks to face him. They stood few feet away from each other.

Raia took a step towards him and stopped when she's looking up at him.

"Good night, my lord." She tip toed and pressed her lips on his for a few seconds before withdrawing from him.

Shock was written on his face. Chuckling to herself, Raia bowed her head and turned her back on him. Leaving the poor man dumbfounded by her.
