VERONICA

Everyone’s quiet, no one tried to speak up and the room is filed with tension.

My parents are staring intently at Yael who’s sitting nervously at the sofa .

“ Oh come on guys! Just talk casually!” I stated when I can’t hold it anymore.

I didn’t expect Yael to go out of his car and walk casually inside our house but he did. He actually look like some gangster from the movies with his wig and fake mustache in his face, he said it’s for disguise I was shocked actually when I saw it in the backseat of his car.

“ So this is your boyfriend? Have you gotten crazy Veron?” My father stated as he cringe while looking at Yael who’s in his disguise.

“ I know that you badly want to get rich but I can’t accept this man, he don’t look like a good man, sorry for saying this in front of you Mr but we strongly disagree about - O-oh wow what a handsome boy” my mother quickly changed her statement when Yael suddenly took of his wig and fake mustache revealing his handsome face.

Okay Mom, stop drooling he isn’t what you think he is! You can’t be fooled by his charms! Been there , done that.

“ W-what do you want young man? Coffee, tea or me?”

The three of us dropped our jaws because of my mother’s statement, what the fuck!

“ Ah, eh I’m sorry, I, I’ll just go to the kitchen and prepare some snacks, Veron come with me” my mother awkwardly smiled and dragged me forcefully towards our kitchen.

“ Who’s that guy Veron? He’s so handsome, when will be the wedding? Are you pregnant? What’s the motif of the wedding? I actually want to suggest that both of you use emerald green as the-“

“ Mom, stop it. He’s just here to drop me off “ I whispered at her ,feeling so embarrassed about what’s she is saying about.

“ Oh come on, Felice called us last night telling that you left her restaurant with your boyfriend. We’re kinda surprised and worried for you but we know that you’re already old enough to do this kind of things “ mom explained to me making me look at her frustratedly.

This is all because of his lame excuse! That freaking gay!

“ Mom he’s not my b-“

“ Honey, Yohan here stated that he wants to give our daughter a job. “ dad suddenly shouted cutting me off.

My mom smiled at me widely then excitedly left the kitchen with the juice and some sweets.

“ Really dear? How kind of you to give your girlfriend a job “ my mom stated making my head ache.

Damn, why can’t they shut up and listen to me?

I stared intently at Yael and send him signals to explain what’s happening to my parents .

“ Actually Ma’am , Veron is not-“

“ Such a funny guy, you should start calling me Mom , it’s not like we’re not a family right?” mommy cut him off making the side of Yael’s lips twitched because of irritation.

I nervously bit my lower lip,

“ Yes, you can call me dad then “ Daddy added making Yael create an unexplainable face.

“ Ma’am , S-sir Veron and I are -“

“ Are a couple, we know that. Felice told us last night, we’re kinda sad that our Veron didn’t told us sooner but it’s now okay , you don’t have to be embarrassed at us” Mommy cut him off once again .

“ Mommy! Come on! We’re not dating okay? Just let Yael leave ! Go Yael, I’ll handle them-“

“ You go with Yael, both of you should spend time together more and besides you don’t need to keep your relationship a secret from us because we accept both of you. Now leave and go on date, hurry” Daddy smiled mischievously and slightly push both of us out of the house.

“ Gosh !” Yael stated as he tried his best to hide his face , fearing that anyone would recognize him.

Without any choice left, I dragged him quickly and we both got inside the car.

“ Damn, mommy really can’t shut up. This is your fault “ I hissed at him and crossed my arms on my chest.

“ She’s like you, both of you are really talkative gosh “ Yael stated irritated as he gently wipe his sweat with his handkerchief .

“ Give me that!” I stated and snatched the handkerchief from him used it to wiped my sweat too.

Dammit! It’s cold but my parents managed to make us sweat this much!

I stopped when I suddenly remembered something .

“ You’ll gave me work?” I asked him dumbfounded and he just nod at me weirdly.

“ No thanks, I can handle myself. Honestly I don’t want to be connected to you anymore “ I rolled my eyes and closed my eyes as I leaned in my seat.

“ Who told you I’ll take no as an answer? I need to make sure that you won’t tell anyone, look at what happened just now, because of your cousin we ended up having a greater problem. How can I trust you who came from a very talkative family? You might end up slipping my secrets accidentally” he explained while glaring at me.

“ Phew , that was long “ I stated absentmindedly making him grunt because of irritation.

“ But I don’t want to work with you!” I answered after I managed to process what he said.

“ I don’t want to either! “ he stated too.

“ Then don’t force me!” I yelled at him.

“ But I need to!” He shouted back.

“ Why are you shouting! The car’s moving because of you!” I yelled once more.

“ Because you’re frustrating me!” He screamed.

We automatically stopped from yelling at each other when someone knock on the car’s window. Yael quickly grabbed his cap from the backseat and turned his face away to hide.

I opened the window and I found my neighbor doing her best to look at Yael’s face.

“ Yes Mrs Monrae? “ I asked trying my best to be polite. This is the neighbor I hate the most! She love to create gossips and issues about me! Like duh can’t she just mind her own life?

“ The car’s moving continuously , I just thought that something happened. Besides, your car is parked in a subdivision in a broad daylight and you know uhm doing those kind of things in a very bold manner is quite -“

“ Oh we are not having sex , that won’t happen we’re just having an argument sorry for the inconvenience” I cut her off and closed the window.

I bit my lower lip hard as I try to control my irritation. I tapped Yael’s shoulder forcefully earning a glare from him.

“ Drive, drive as far as you can go, I hate this freaking place!” I screamed the last part and slammed the window.

“ Woah! Don’t hurt my baby” Yael stated surprised because of my action.

“ Just fucking drive you homo!” I shouted and he obediently obliged.

“ W-woah where are we?” I asked nervously when he parked his car inside a different house’s garage.

“ My manager’s house, I need to fix something here “ Yael stated and then left the car.

I was so sure that this is the same subdivision his house is located! Does this mean his manager is his neighbor?

I gasped exaggeratedly and covered my mouth using my both hands.

A-are they in a secret relationship? Is that why he’s here? Is he going to make up with him after cheating on him with his personal assistant?

“ Oh come on Veron! Don’t exaggerate , maybe he’s just here to fix the mess he did last night!” I whispered to myself then nod to convince myself.

I quickly unbuckled my seatbelt and run towards the same direction he went to.

I frozen on the spot as my eyes widened in shock when I saw them in a very weird situation. Yael’s on the bottom while a good looking guy is on top of him. T-the fuck?

“ Y-Yael you’re a- Ahm, a b-bottom?” I stuttered as I can’t believe the sight before me.

Yael frowned deeply while the good looking guy bursted into laughter as they quickly move away from each other.

“ what the heck are you saying? Reese just lost his balance, damn “ Yael stated and shake his head as I notice him blushing very much.

My stares went down to his pants and found him getting hard, damn he really is indeed gay!

“ You homo! I thought you’re going to fix something here? What are you doing getting hard on this handsome guy huh? Oh come on, tame your hormones down!” I stated as I hold my head because of frustration.

Why do I always need to see him in this kind of situations? Why can’t they do it in more secured private place! Are they insulting me? Both handsome guys are flirting in front of me, this is fucking torture!

“ And you too good looking gay, please don’t go flirting with your boyfriend around a lady like me! Can’t you see I’m very insulted because of that? Like, omg I’m here why can’t they just kiss me rather than each other? This is fucking unbelievable! Don’t you know that he cheated on you? Yes! He cheated on you with his fucking personal assistant! And you know what? They did it in a freaking public comfort room! “ I stated as fast as I can making them both look at me unbelievably while their mouth hangs open.

“ W-woah, you’re right Yael, she really is bad news “ the good looking boyfriend stated after a few seconds of shock.

“ Told yah “ Yael stated and sat down weakly on the sofa.

“ What do you mean? Who’s bad news? Like the fuck let me go home already!” I stated irritably .

“ I already sent you home earlier right? Your parents sent us away and you told me to drive you out of that place “ Yael said faintly as if he’s so tired while looking at me blankly .

“ Oh “ I muttered when I remembered it, okay sorry I’m just a human who sometimes do mistakes.

“ Miss , I’m Reese Delton , Yael’s manager. He already told me about the situation so if you may please, please sit down and calm down “ the guy named Reese stated.

“ I’m calm, what are you saying “ I sarcastically muttered and sat down on the sofa.

Who would have thought that I’ll end up going inside different guys’ houses in just almost a day?

I gasped surprisingly when I found another familiar man sitting on the sofa too. I look at him carefully and finally realized that he is the one who’s making out with Yael last night.

I didn’t notice him earlier, Yael and Reese’s fault though.

“ What are you doing here?” I mouthed at him and he just smiled awkwardly at me.

Now ,now, this guy looks and acts like gay , he’s not like Yael who still possesses manly aura around him.

“ I already talked about Hayden here and he already promised not to tell anyone “ Reese stated and sat down on the sofa too.

“ S-sorry Sir Yael “ This Hayden guy stated .

Why is he saying sorry? Yael’s at fault too!

“ Sorry too” Yael stated sincerely,

I looked at him wide eyed, wow he just said sorry!

“ The only problem here is Miss Veronica “ Reese added making me look at him seriously.

“ I’m not a problem okay? I already promised too that I won’t tell anyone, “ I stated and rolled my eyes. How many times do I need to tell them that I won’t talk about it ?

“ We don’t trust you “ the three of them stated in chorus making me exaggeratedly touch my chest as if I was hurt.

“ That was rude! And you Hayden? You’re one of them now?” I stated unbelievably .

“ S-sorry but you’re too talkative, I just heard you earlier “ Hayden smiled awkwardly at me.

“ Besides, I’ll give you a job. Both of you and Hayden will be my personal assistants, doesn’t sound bad right? In this way Hayden won’t be too tired because of lot of works “ Yael explained.

I glared at him.

“ So you just want me to be your PA? Like, I’m here to make sure that Hayden won’t be too tired after work so you two will be able to have some fun?!” I stated sarcastically.

“ I strongly disagree” I flatly said.

“ Your parents already said yes “ Yael said.

“ Oh, right” I bit my lower lip because of that.

“ You cannot back down, besides your dad mentioned earlier that you’re having difficulties in finding a job. I’ll pay you ,don’t worry” Yael added.

“ Double?” I smiled innocently as I show him my two fingers.

“ If that would make you shut up and keep my secret, then okay, double”

“ B-but sir Yael, how about me?” Hayden stated also hoping he get a double salary.

Yael shake his head seriously then spoke,

“ No, that would be your punishment for taking advantage of my weakness last night “

I gave Hayden a pitiful look and approached him to gave him a hug.

“ Don’t worry girl, I’ll treat you some pizza at my first pay day “ I whispered at him and tap his back lightly.

“ By the way, you’ll be working for me 24/7 Veron, you can live at my house” Yael stated making me look at him suddenly .

“ What!” I screamed and took a step towards him and leaned to face him close up.

“ It would be a hassle if I let you out of my sight, you might accidentally slip out my secret to anyone, that won’t do and besides that’s also the reason why I’m willing to pay you double” he explained making closed my eyes tightly.

Can I refuse? Is it too late to refuse?

“ And if you’re thinking that I might do anything to you, then rest assured that I won’t even get attracted to a woman like you” he added making me gasp at him.

How dare he? It would be a lot better if he’ll do something to-No, no then I’m safe, that’s good to hear.

He raised an eyebrow at me and I just smirked at him.

“ Then let’s go back and get my things” I stated.

“ Nah, you go there with Hayden. I need to rest, I’m still tired “ Yael said and then left the house without saying anything, the next thing I knew? He left me here , alone with this two guys- I mean one guy and one gay.

“ So, l-let’s go?” Hayden stated weighing my reaction.

I grunted and nodded at him as I stomp my feet while walking towards the garage.

“ Use the black one Hayden, drive safely “ Reese shouted and Hayden just nodded at him.

Why did I ended up in this kind of situation? Yesterday, just yesterday I was still living my normal life! Damn that homo.
