"Urgh it's Monday already.” I grumbled. Time to get for school. I sighed getting of the bed to the bathroom. I did my morning routing. I was already ready to leave. "The driver is waiting for you outside.” Umma talked loudly enough for me to hear. "Okay umma.

I couldn't even eat cause I was late. I made Strawberry Nutella French Toast Roll Ups. “Bye umma, I'm off to school." I kissed her cheek. “Okay take care. Allah bada sa’a.

The silent ride to my school made me to think of what my parents and siblings had been talking about. It was starting to disturb me. I suddenly felt lonely. This loneliness is a vice on my heart, squeezing with just enough pressure to be a constant pain. It started killing me just a little bit more, taking what was once my inner light and replacing it with a darkness that overshadows each moment.

I don’t want to make a wrong choice...

Few minutes later we arrived at the school. I didn’t even noticed. “Ma'am we are here.” He announced. "Oh! Alright, come back by 6pm.” I said going out of the car. As soon as I entered the school, I went straight to the lecture hall. Thank God the lecturer is not in yet.

"Basma come sit close to me.” Fa’iza offered. "Thank you fa'iza,” I smiled.

"How are you?"

"I'm fine."

"And how is umma and abba?" She asked again. “They're all fine Alhamdulillah.

Soon the lecturer came and we started.

I couldn't concentrate, I was just thinking. “Miss basma!" The lecturer interrupted my reverie. “Yes sir," I blinked. “It's like your mind is not here, what are you thinking of?"  He asked a bit irritated. “Nothing sir.” I shook my head. “Okay then explain what's on the board.

"Uhmm sir... I... Uhmm..." I stammered scratching my head. He sighed and continued with the lecture. Few hours later we were on break. I was sitting alone when Farida called out my name loudly. "Oh my god you almost gave me a heart attack!" I huffed, breathing in and out.

She laughed, “sorry didn’t mean it.” She apologized. “So basma baby how are you?"

"I'm good.

“Hey ladies!” Najah popped out of no where

“Where have you been?” Farida asked her. She sat next to me. “The annoying lecturer took 15mins out of our time.” She hissed. I giggled. “What?” She glared at me. “Nothing ma'am,” I grinned. “I'm hungry, I think we should go eat,” Farida whined.

“You see that's why you're so Chubby and short,” I teased. She glared at me, “says the girl that can't even talk to boys.

“Ouch!” Najah laughed making me more irritated. “What did you just said?!” I said through gritting teeth. “Nothing,” she gave me a smirk. I huffed. “I’ll get back to you later.

She laughed, “Lemme see you get a boyfriend.” She was getting on my nerves. “I'll prove you wrong.” I snapped a finger at her. “I dare you madam!

We were walking and gisting heading towards the cafeteria when a guy stopped us. “Salam alaikum,” he greeted smiling, looking at me. I rolled my eyes. “Wa alaikumus Salam," they both answered. "Uhmm Miss please can I talk to you." He looked at me. Oh this will be good!

I was busy tapping my phone trying to ignore him. Farida hit my shoulder. "He’s talking to you,” she whispered. “And so?" I said coldly. “Could you please listen to what I want to say, please.” He pleaded.

"Please listen to what he's going to say.” Najah whispered to me. “Okay, what?"

“My name is Mu’ab.  I've noticed you for about two months now, and in my believe you are the most beautiful creature I've ever seen. Whenever I see you passing I'll stop whatever I'm doing just to look at the most beautiful creature in the world. A lot of people told me you're kinda arrogant to guys. That really discouraged me to come and meet you. Then I thought why don't I try...

"Enough with the bullshit!” I cut him off. “When the people that told you I was arrogant why didn’t you believe them? Are you crazy? Do I look like some kinda stupid girl that'll fall in love with you and then end up getting betrayed? Seriously Do I look like a toy to you?"

"But if you'd just..."

"Hey shut up!" I cut him off yet again. I hissed and left him there with my friends. They apologized to him and came walking fast to catch up with me.

"Wai ke meye matsalan ki? (what is your problem?) Farida spoke, anger laced in her voice. "Can’t you for once think of what you’re doing isn’t right? Why are you doing this to your future?"

"Hey! hey! It's my life not yours!” I quickly cut her off before she could continue.

“You're so unbelievable.” Najah shook her head. “You better change before it’s too late. You’ll regret it if you don’t stop this attitude.” She added. “You guys should let me be please,” I sighed. They just won’t understand. “But if you couldn't just...

"I said please" I cut her off. “Okay fine, but remember time will never wait for you.

To be continued Insha Allah✨
