When Alex returns home, it's already late into the night. Crystal sits on the sofa watching the latest TV series and does not even lift her head when she hears his footsteps approaching. She knows that Alex would come back to look for her.

"Wu, you can leave now."

The housemaid is aware of the tension. She leaves immediately when she's asked to, leaving Alex and Crystal alone in the living room.

No one speaks at first. The whole room is deadly silent.

"Abort the baby." Alex's voice is emotionless.

Crystal looks up at him in panic, searching his eyes deeply. She hasn't expected that the first thing he says is to abort their baby. "It's your baby as well," she blurts out. Her voice is trembling.

Alex narrows his eyes and leans over to her to pin her chin. "But she should not get into your body. I've said you are not eligible to carry my baby."

She has thought that even if he doesn't love her, he will at least show mercy to his baby. She's wrong. He loathes her so much that he dislikes the baby as well. She cannot stop tears running down from her eyes.

Alex panics when seeing her teardrops and loosens his grip on her chin. She is always a proud peacock. Having known her for so many years, he has rarely seen her cry. His heart melts.

"Alex, you have to kill me first before killing my baby." Crystal confronts him with tearful eyes yet inflexible will.
