Chapter 3

THIRD PERSON POV

"Abigail." Larissa called for her granddaughter.

Abigail smiled and walked towards her grandma. "Coming..."

Larissa smile and led her to her room where Carmen was waiting patiently.

Carmen looked at her granddaughter with her piercing blue orbs. "What are you trying to do, Abby?" She asked.

Abigail was confused. She looked at Larissa.

"About Alle and your Friend Hazel."

Abigail chuckled. "Isn't it obvious. I'm trying to match them up."

Carmen raised her eyebrows, and Larissa crossed her hands. "How old is she?"

“Eighteen.

"Parents?"

"Orphan."

"Where does she live?"

"Melanie's old house. After she turned eighteen, she decided to move out from the orphanage and live alone."

"Is she working?"

Abigail nodded.

"Where?"

"The supermarket."

Carmen nodded. "Does your aunt even respond to her question?"

Abigail nodded.

"Do your parents know what you're doing?"

Abigail shook her head.

"Let's make this our little secret then." Larissa said.

Carmen looked at her Wife wondering what she meant.

"We obviously want Alle to move on. God bless Kylie, but we need our Daughter to live. Not physically alive but dead. Maybe Hazel is the one. Who knows."

Carmen thought for a second. She would do anything for her kid, and she meant anything. "Okay then." She turned to Abigail. "If you think she's perfect for your aunt, then I'm fine."

Abigail excused herself.

Larissa looked at Carmen. "What's on your mind, baby?"

Carmen offered her Wife a small smile. "Nothing. It's just I feel helpless knowing Alle’s like this. She used to be so cheerful."

"But you’ve got to admit, her party animal attitude changed after she had met Kylie."

"True. Hope was not a good influence for her for years."

Larissa chuckled. "Including Zara."

Carmen laughed.

"Come on. Christina and Catherine will arrive any minute now." Larissa pulled her Wife up.

"Do I have to?"

Larissa nodded.

Carmen sighed and followed her Wife like a puppy. What could she say, Larissa really whipped her up.

As they walked across the hallway, they heard something from one of the rooms. Without them knowing, Allyson was waiting for someone to step into her trap. And she didn't even know her grandparents were the target. Carmen leaned in, and suddenly, the door open. Allyson pie bombed her grandma. Her eyes widened when she noticed it was Carmen. Allyson was speechless.

Larissa held her stomach as she laughed hard.

"ALLYSON!" Carmen yelled.

“I’M SORRY! I thought it was Abby!" Allyson ran downstairs.

Carmen couldn’t help to smile. She truly loved her life now.

"Hey Mommy. I want to ask y-... What happen?" Hope asked her mother's.

"Allyson... Haha... Pie bombed your daddy...HAHAHAA." Larissa explained through her laughter.

Hope tried to hold back her laugh.

"Don't you dare." Carmen said to her Daughter.

Hope raised both her hands.

Carmen continued to walk towards the stairs.

"Honey. Don't you want to change?" Larissa asked her.

"No. Let's go."

Larissa chuckled and patted Hope's shoulder.

"What's all the commotion?" Alle asked when she walked out of her room.

"Ally pie bombed daddy."

Alle smiled. "Again?"

Hope nodded. "Come. Let's go downstairs before she explodes.

Alle chuckled and followed her Sister.

As they walked towards the living room, they could hear their aunts’ laughter.

"Stop it!" Carmen said through gritted teeth. "Where's Camellia?"

Christina tried to stand properly. "Paris of course."

"Are you going to laugh at me?"

Christina nodded her head.

"Where is Maria when I need her."

"At Dad’s house, taking care of Mom."

"Jane?"

Catherine smiled. "Work."

"Hey Alle." The sisters said in unison.

"Twins." Carmen said and shook her head.

"Hey." Alle took a seat next to Larissa. She rested her head on her mother's shoulder and closed her eyes.

"You okay?" Larissa felt a light nod. "Okay then."

"Can I just... Hug you for a second like we used to when I was young?

"Sure honey."

Alle wrapped her arms around Larissa and just stayed like that and sighed.

"I miss the times when you always said no candy to me. But Hope would always give it to me and Bella would, too."

Larissa glared at Hope. "They did, huh..."

"I miss you, Mommy." Alle mumbled.

Larissa felt loved. "I miss you, too, Alle."

Carmen signalled everyone to leave them alone.

They understood her and slowly walked away from the living room.

"Let her talk to her Mother. She will open up." Carmen said and led them outside.

Larissa caressed her daughter’s head. "Alle. It's okay to cry."

"I know, Mom."

"You miss her right?"

Alle slowly nodded.

"I know, honey. You wouldn’t be like this if you didn’t.

Alle tighten her grip. "I love her, Mom. She's the one for me."

Larissa turned to kiss her Daughter’s forehead. "I know, Alle." She hushed her Daughter.

"How did you deal with grandma's passing, Mom?"

Larissa suddenly thought about her Mother’s passing years ago. It was hard for her to handle it, but now, she was okay with Carmens support and her sisters. "Well Alle, I have your daddy's support, you and Hope. And my sisters. Family helps. You can't be alone. You need help, and family is the answer for it."

"I love you, Mom."

Larissa smiled. "I love you, too, honey."

Carmen and Hope walked in and smiled. They both went to Larissa and Alle and hugged them.

"We love you, too, Alle. Don't forget that." Hope said.

Carmen kissed all three of her girls. "And I love all of you. Even if you’re old, you both still our my babies." She said and smiled.

Bella watched closely from behind them.

Abigail walked up to her Mother and smiled, too.

It was a miracle to see them all together like this.

"Mom... Are you crying?"

Bella quickly wiped off her tears. "No. Some dust." She said.

Abigail knew better than that and hugged her Mom. "I love you, Mom. Thank you for bringing me to this world."

Bella smiled. "You’re most welcome, Abby."

"Ally want a hug, too."

Abigail laughed and opened her arms so that her little sister could join them.

"What are the three of you doing there? Come here and give us a hug." Carmen said when she noticed Bella and her granddaughters.

Soon, it was one big family hug from the Laroves. It was not a big family, but it was perfect for Carmen. It was her family. And she wouldn’t let anything happen to them...

ALLE'S POV

"I don't know." Was all I could say when Mommy asked me about her yogurt. It was either Abby or Ally who was secretly eating all the food. But we all knew we wouldn’t touch Mommy's yogurt. It was crucial. No one ate it except her. "Look. I'll buy some. Okay?"

Mommy looked at me with pleading eyes.

"Don't do that." I stood and grabbed my keys. "ABIGAIL! FOLLOW ME!" I yelled over the stairs.

Minutes later, Abby jogged towards me. "Where to?"

"The store. Yogurt drama."

Abby chuckled. "Why am I here?"

"Because I don't know what to buy. So you have to choose. Now come on." I said and walked outside. "So which store should we go?" I asked my Niece when we were both in the car.

I could see a slight smirk on her face. "The place where we always go to."

I nodded and started to drive. I parked my car at the Lot and got out of the car.

Abby still had this amused smirk on her face, and I didn’t know why. We walked towards the dairy products, and I stopped when something caught my eye.

"What's that?"

"Kylie's Favourite snacks." I smiled remembering how she would be angry without this on her monthly pain. I put it back and smiled at my Niece. "Let's get that yogurt.

Abby grabbed everything she saw.

"Do you think..."

"I want them." Abby quickly interrupted me.

"Okay then." While I was watching her, someone hit my cart. I looked up to see a red haired woman who looked like she was about to... Cry?

"I'm sorry."

"It's okay. Are you okay miss?"

"HAZEL! GET BACK TO WORK!" A male voice startled her.

A soft okay from her.

Wait. Hazel?! I tried to look at her face.

"Hazel? Why are you crying?" Abby asked her.

She looked up. "Abby?"

Abby walked towards her and checked her up.

"It's nothing. Just the new boss is mean."

"What new boss?" This was new. I’ve never seen Abby so... Protective.

"Him."

I followed where she pointed.

"I have to go. Bye Abby." She smiled at me and walked back to the counter.

Abby walked to me and sighed. "She’s afraid of guys. Something happened to her at the orphanage that made her afraid of them. She can be sweet and funny. She also can be so fragile and helpless. Even tho she's older than me, she acts like the younger one. Mel and I help her to survive the world after she moved out from the orphanage."

"She's an orphan?"

Abby nodded. "Mommy tried to reach out when I told her. But Hazel just turned her down and said she needed to be independent. Aunt Alle, I don't like that new boss. He’s always yelling at her."

I looked at my Niece. "You want me to help her. Don’t you?"

Abby smiled and nodded.

"Help her how?"

"You have friends right? Ask them if they have any jobs to offer to an eighteen-year-old high school student." Again, those pleading eyes.

"Stop..." Those eyes would be the death of me. "I'll see what I can do. Wait a minute. Tina has a small flower shop right? Why don't you ask her?"

A crash sound made us look at where it was. Again, the new boss yelled at Hazel.

Abby walked towards them and stopped him. "You don't talk to my Friend like that." Seriously, she really did have Bella's attitude.

"WHAT DO YOU BITCHES WANT FROM ME?! SHES MY WORKER! I OWN HER!"

Own? What was this? A whore house?

Abby stepped up.

Why did this always happen to me when I was with Abby?

"No one owns her. You have no right."

The man stepped forward. "And what will a small girl like you do to me?"

Abby smiled and kicked the man in the crotch. "I can do that." My eyes widened. Abby had balls!

The man groaned in pain. "YOU BITCH!"

I noticed he tried to yanked my Niece by the hair, so that was the cue that I needed to interrupt them. I grabbed his hand and squeezed it tightly. "Oh no you don't. A single hair from my Niece I'll end your life." I smiled at the man who tried to concealed his pain from my grip. "Abby, help your Friend to take her stuff and get out of here."

Abby smiled and helped Hazel to her locker.

"And you..." I looked at his name tag. "Chase, will received a hefty amount of law suit from me." I leaned in. "If I were you, I wouldn't even dare to lay a hand on a Larove. But you almost did, and you will receive a call from my lawyer. See you in court. If you can afford a lawyer." I released him. I moved my cart to the counter and paid. I waited for them outside. I reached for my phone and searched for my friends who were looking for workers. Minutes later, Abby walked out with Hazel and made her way to the car. I got in and started the engine. "Butterflies and Hurricanes by Muse. Classic." I said mentally. I waited for them to entered. Abby smiled. I looked through the rear view mirror and a soft smile was on Hazel’s face. She was kind of... Cute. “How about dinner at our house, Hazel?" I invited her.

"Oh no. I don't want to trouble anyone."

"No. You never will interrupt us." Abby said, and I nodded.

"Our house it is." I said without giving her any chance to protest. I smiled and drove...

ABBY'S POV

It was official... Hazel liked Aunt Alle! Why? Because she just smiled. She never smiled.

"I'm going to rest a bit, so call me when dinner is ready." Aunt Alle said to me.

"Will do." I noticed Hazel watch as Aunt Alle made her way to the stairs. "Finally giving in?" I asked my Friend.

"What? No!"

I laughed at how flushed she looked. "It's so obvious, Haz." I grabbed an empty glass and poured the juice for her. "How are you, Haz?"

Hazel smiled. "I'm fine." Her hands were shaking while drinking the juice. "Maybe a little shaky."

I smiled. "It's okay. You're safe here."

Mommy walked in. "Hello Hazel. It's nice to see you again." She went to kiss Hazel. It was something Mommy always did when Hazel was here. It actually calmed her down a bit. A Mother's love.

"Hey Hazel." Mom walked in next. She look... Like she was ready to punch some people. "What? I was from the gym."

I raised my hands. "I didn't say anything, Mom. Anyways. You guys have any friends searching for workers? Hazel needs one."

They both looked confused.

"Aunt Alle saved her from a deranged man."

They both nodded. "I think your Aunt Tina is hiring. I can make a call to ask her." Mommy said.

I smiled. "Okay."

Mommy smiled. "Have fun you two. And you..." Mommy turned to Mom and dragged her by the ear. "I asked you to clean the office room before Daddy came back!"

Hazel chuckled. "Abby, your parents are awesome. I wish I knew mine."

I smiled at her. "My parents are your parents, too. Feel free to call them Mom or Mommy. You're family, Hazel. Come on. Let's go to my room." I walked and Hazel followed close behind me. "If you’re wondering, this is Aunt Alle's room."

Hazel pushed my back lightly.

I chuckled. I opened my room door and let her in.

" Abby, can I ask you a question?"

"You just did."

Hazel hit my shoulder playfully.

I giggled.

"How do you know Mel is the one?"

Ok this question was weird. "Ummmm. I don't know. The heart does. And it said Mel was the one when she asked me to be her Girlfriend. Why?"

Hazel shook her head. "So you felt something after she asked?

I smiled. "No. I had a crush on her. And her asking me was just a bonus. That meant she had the same feelings for me like I had for her." I watched Hazel thoroughly. Did she have feelings for Aunt Alle? "Why Haz?"

She smiled and lay on my bed. "I don’t, Abby. I feel something for someone, and I don't know if that someone even knows I exist."

Okay, this was new. She never talked like this before.

"Who is this someone?"

"Your aunt, Abby."

I laughed. "Finally you like someone! I’M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!" I was about to crush her with my hugs when she pushed me till I fell to the floor. "What gives!"

"If you’re starting to hug me, I will need to walk home."

"Haz, If you’re serious about this, I'm willing to help."

She looked hesitant. "But I don't want to be desperate."

I chuckled. "Please. I've seen desperate, and this is not desperate. You haven't forcefully kissed, hugged or even slept with her yet."

"Women do that?"

I scoffed. "They’re willing to do anything to be in my family. But my grandparents know you well. They approve."

Hazel’s eyes widened. "They approve? Of what?!"

I chuckled. "Of you and Aunt Alle."

"You’re bluffing."

I grabbed her face and sighed. "I'm serious! They approve! NOW, LETS THINK OF A STRATEGY TO WIN HER HEART!" I yelled at her.

We both laughed.

"Abby... Should she know what happen to me?"

Ok now, that's a serious question. "That's your choice, Haz. They’re your secrets, and if you think you don't want to hide anything,, it's up to you."

Hazel sighed.

A knocked startled us.

"Come in."

The door opened and it was Mel. "Hey babe. I came as soon as I could.

I stood and hugged her. "Our little Friend here is crushing hard on my aunt."

Melanie laughed. "Yay! We did it!"

We both laughed at a red faced Hazel.

"Now, she's asking me about her secret. Should she come clean when they’re official?"

Melanie nodded her head. "Honesty is a must in a relationship."

"What if she hates me if she knows about me."

"I know my aunt, and she's not a hater."

"I'm crushing hard on my best friend’s aunt! Now, that's sick."

We laughed at her.

"It's okay, future aunt. I approve."

She hit me playfully, and we continued to talk until Mommy called us for dinner...
