Amy finished all of her projects and assignments over the weekend and she felt relieved. A part of her forced herself to work for every class because she wanted to get her mind off Ellie and Kai. Even if neither of them hated her she was ready to move on and make friends based on interests instead of popularity or appearance. Other than English class, there wasn't much they had in common. Unfortunately, it was already halfway into the semester so Amy wouldn't be able to change seats in class.

"Don't overthink it. Think of them as any other classmate. And if Kai still wants to be friends, then that's okay. I don't always have to talk to him."

"I won't start friendships anymore."

She opened her English binder and made conversation with the girl she sat next to. She felt nervous just being around the other group of kids.

Ellie and Kai walked inside the room, laughing together. Amy didn't even look up.

As soon as the class ended, Amy stormed off for lunchtime. Ellie and Kai noticed her.

"She's pissed at me isn't she?"

"Maybe it's something else. But damn, I didn't even get to talk to her today."

"Are you guys close?"

"I want to be. She's kind of cool."

"Really?" she asked. "Like, she'll help me ace this class cool?"

"No, she's chill. I like talking to her."

"Well I can't even talk to her. But I already apologized so.. there's nothing else I can do."

"Maybe I can talk to her and say good things about you."

"Like what? I think Ellie is an amazing person and ever since Daniel's party-"

"Okay stop talking," he left. She laughed.

After Daniel's party, Kai and Ellie texted eachother a lot. They were flirting a bit and even in school their friends could tell that there was something going on. To make it less awkward, and to avoid telling people that they were talking, Ellie wanted to hang out with Kai and Amy as a group of three. She didn't want to push herself to talk to Amy especially if Amy didn't want to be friends but, she liked Amy too. She could use a girl friend to talk about Kai with. She didn't want to tell Nicole about the kiss yet.

"Amy," Ellie stood in front of Amy's seat. Amy looked up at her.

"...Hi."

"Remember a few weeks ago when we saw the university fair together?"

"Yeah I didn't forget." She said bluntly.

"Do..." Ellie looked at Kai. "Do you want to hang out again?"

"What?" Amy was shocked. There was no way she wasn't dreaming.

"You don't have to if you don't want to. I promise I'm not a bitch and, if you think I'm trying to hard, I'm not, because I've never asked to hang out until now."

"I..." she looked down nervously.

Get it together Amy. You have confidence. Look at her.

"Yeah sure."

"-Great!" Ellie smiled. "You want to get lunch together today?"

"Oh today? Uh.. I have to stay in for chemistry class. I'm finishing a test."

"Okay. What about tomorrow?"

"Yeah. I can do tomorrow at lunch."

"Cool! I'll just hit you up after class then."

Amy turned around and saw Kai looking at them.

"Hi."

Amy felt herself grin.

"And if you don't mind, this weirdo wants to come with us," Ellie said, teasing Kai.

Amy smiled. "He's not weird... okay, maybe he is,"

"See? You're already cool."

"Tsk, yeah okay. And you think you are too,"

"Whatever Kai," Ellie left the room. Amy took a minute in her seat to process what just happened.

Ellie Marin asked her to hang out. She didn't even have to talk to her. Kai was watching, and he would be with them tomorrow.

To be honest, nothing has been the same ever since the event but, Amy was confused on why Ellie suddenly wanted to talk to her. She felt sad knowing that it took her interference with Ethan to make it happen. Maybe this would have happened regardless of that but, it was too good to be true. She wasn't going to get her hopes up yet. So she kept her mind off of it until tomorrow at lunch.

"Okay, I'm craving Subway today. What about you Kai?"

"I... I'll just get pizza."

"Again?"

"Yeah why not?"

Amy wondered why Ellie said again. Did they hang out at lunch before?

"Okay. Amy what about you?"

"I'm gonna get potato crisps."

"That's it?"

"Yeah... I think."

"Ellie stop judging our lunches jheez,"

"What-? I'm not judging, I'm getting information to help me make my own decision."

"You wouldn't get subway based on us?" Kai asked.

"No! like, I wanna know what you guys want." Amy watched them bicker.

"Well," Kai looked at Amy, "we're going to go to the supermarket to get our food and you can go to Subway. They're right next to eachother."

"Fine. Next time let's just all go to the same place." Ellie said.

"NEXT TIME!" Amy wanted to yell out. How was she living her dream? the one she thought could never happen?

"You and Ellie seem to be so happy today. Did something happen?"

"What?" Kai laughed. He realized he was smiling again. "I mean, no not today."

"So something happened but not today?"

Kai blushed. "Well.. we just.. I don't know. She's cute."

Amy widened her eyes. "I feel like I'm with two different people from the ones I knew in class."

"That's cause you never hang out with us outside of school. It's like your first time today."

"Have you hung out with her before?"

"A few times. I've known her since middle school."

"You went to that party on the weekend?"

"Daniel's? yeah."

"How was it?"

"Oh.. he was drunk when I came in. He drank- a lot."

Amy smiled. They went to get their food.

"Ahh you guys look so cute together," Ellie said.

"What?" Kai's eyes sharpened.

"Amy how tall are you?"

"Um..." Amy's face went red. "5'3.."

"Cute."

"Ellie is on drugs, don't mind her.." They walked back to the school. Amy looked at them laughing.

"Shut up!" Ellie tapped Kai.

Amy knew that something definitely happened.

Not only was Amy hanging out with Kai and Ellie, but they were teasing eachother. They acted like a couple.
