Chapter 26: Car Chase

"Dadadadadada…"

The onboard machine gun unleashed a fierce barrage, and the firing rate of the machine gun was evidently violent. Li Wei had done his best to evade, relying on his superb driving skills to dodge a significant portion of the bullet spray.

However, the rotary machine gun fired too rapidly. In that instant, a multitude of bullets poured out, and even if one were a driving god, it would be impossible to evade all of them.

In a moment, Judith's "Mustang" off-road vehicle was covered in numerous bullet holes.

Fortunately, the "Mustang" itself was a combat vehicle. As an advanced Demon Hunter, Judith spared no expense on her ride. The entire car, including its bulletproof glass, had good defensive capabilities. Even the wheels were equipped with additional external armor in vulnerable areas prone to bullet hits.

Meanwhile, Li Wei's mental composure was also quite good. Staring at the bullet-riddled bulletproof windshield, he didn't blink, stepping hard on the accelerator, charging straight towards the pickup truck mounted with the rotary machine gun.

The "Mustang," with its aggressive front, rammed the door of the pickup truck like a rhino's horn. Through the windshield, Li Wei saw the guy sitting in the front passenger seat, ready to pull out a gun. His head was directly smashed by the ramming corner, blood splattering wildly.

After disabling the pickup truck, Li Wei swiftly turned the steering wheel, braking first and then accelerating. The "Mustang's" engine, under Li Wei's control, roared loudly, slightly changing direction and plowing ahead. Through this series of maneuvers, he successfully avoided getting stuck in the crossroads.

Judith, sitting in the back, was dumbfounded by this display of driving skills. Even those guys in the guild who constantly boasted about their unparalleled driving skills might not reach this level, right?

Avoiding another car rushing from the right, Li Wei drove the "Mustang" out, reminding Judith casually, "Senior Judith, it's your turn to show off!"

"No need for you to tell me!"

Judith's temper wasn't good at all. Leaning out of the car window, the woman known as the "Witch," with her flowing blonde hair, suddenly emitted a red glow from her eyes. The wheels of the two cars chasing them were instantly engulfed in intense flames.

The four wheels burning with flames did indeed look cool when speeding, but this coolness was only before their imminent demise.

Three seconds later, amidst a thunderous explosion, the two pursuing vehicles turned into two fireballs in the high-speed pursuit.

A smug smile appeared on Judith's face. She proudly said, "Weaklings, no skilled fighters among them, and they dared to chase my car? You guys... What the hell?"

She was interrupted by an abrupt brake.

Li Wei didn't say anything but quickly took out his dagger and pistol. In front of the car, the road was completely blocked by roadblocks.

Even a tank would find it impossible to pass through this road blocked by large chunks of rubble, bricks, and discarded large steel structures. Not to mention the off-road vehicle they were currently riding, the "Mustang."

Taking a look around, there were no visible enemies around the roadblock. But only someone with a problem in their head would think that everything was fine here; this was obviously intentional, specifically aimed at them.

Armed and ready for battle, Li Wei didn't get out of the car. Sitting in the "Mustang," there was some cover, and the car's bulletproof performance was quite good. It would be foolish to expose himself and become an easy target.

Suddenly, a roar echoed.

From the side lanes, motorcycles appeared in the line of sight of Li Wei and the others.

"It's the Skull Gang," Li Wei recognized the identity of these guys from the symbols on their motorcycles.

Judith kindly reminded, "Don't be too careless. Those five in striped jackets are the Blackheart Riders of the Skull Gang, each with the strength to break through the gene lock."

The Blackheart Riders could be considered high-ranking members of the Skull Gang.

Li Wei wouldn't be naive enough to equate the strength of the Skull Gang in the 17th Street District with the entire Skull Gang. In this broken place, the members of the Skull Gang were just small fry, not even completing extreme training. But when expanding the target to the entire Skull Gang, it wasn't difficult to bring in some experts.

Like the Blackheart Riders at this level.

With their strength, if they became Demon Hunters and took on missions from the Hunter Guild, they would be senior Demon Hunters capable of independently completing B-rank commissions. Just one Blackheart Rider would be more than enough to wipe out the entire 17th Street District branch.

Of course, that was under the assumption that Eileen didn't intervene.

Even so, Li Wei still spoke nonchalantly, "What do I have to worry about? They don't need me to deal with them anyway."

Judith gave him a look and said, "Don't be too careless. There are still around ten more people."

"You go deal with those five Blackheart Riders, and I'll stay in the car to protect Yasha."

Li Wei dared to say this because he was confident.

In his opinion, the people sent by the Skull Gang headquarters should only include those five Blackheart Riders. The other dozen or so guys seemed to be local gang members.

According to the map, they were currently in the Mist Core District, a place not much better than the 17th Street District. The ten or so people should be gang members from the Mist Core District, and Li Wei only saw one person who looked like they had completed extreme training. The other guys didn't concern him much; he just needed to be a bit careful with firearms.

He still had the "Mustang" as cover.

"Alright, you make sure to protect Yasha's safety."

Saying this, Judith kicked open the car door. Following that, Li Wei saw her figure flicker in the rearview mirror, and she directly disappeared from the seat. In an instant, this woman's figure appeared in the open space in front of the windshield, floating in mid-air.

Raising her hand, large swathes of flames swept towards the five Blackheart Riders.

Li Wei's eyes widened a bit. This was the first time he had seen a high-level Demon Hunter in action!

Her power was so formidable that it exceeded his imagination!

Judith controlled the power of fire. She was a master specializing in developing hub chains. The direct manifestation of hub chains lay in the strengthening of mental power, allowing her to directly manipulate various forms of external energy in her unique way, manifesting different characteristics.

The hub chain of the fourth sequence made her fire power incredibly strong!

Facing the flames unleashed by Judith, the five Blackheart Riders each revealed their respective powers, joining forces to resist Judith's fire.
