Chapter 27: Fuel Tank Explosion

Even though those five Blackheart Riders were experts who had broken through the gene lock like Judith, there was still a significant gap in power levels compared to her. Judith's total development level had reached level seven, with four development levels completed in just the hub chain. It was rumored that she hadn't reached the point of element awakening yet, but she possessed a natural talent that could enhance the effects of fire. This allowed her to skillfully utilize various flame skills through the hub chain.

As for the five Blackheart Riders facing her, Li Wei's eyesight was currently insufficient to determine their development levels. However, it was certain that they were far from Judith's level.

Although it was a five-on-one situation, those five Blackheart Riders were completely at the mercy of Judith.

The "Witch" intentionally led the battlefield away from the "Mustang," avoiding close combat where the tremendous energy fluctuations would inevitably affect the vehicle. Judith didn't want to be distracted protecting Li Wei and Yasha during the battle.

The Blackheart Riders probably didn't like the battlefield being shifted, but they were helpless under the overwhelming flames.

After Judith gradually pulled those five guys further away, Li Wei's battle began.

Initially, the gang members of the Skull Gang didn't dare to approach. The battle between the strong who had activated their gene lock chains emitted overwhelming energy. Even with the off-road vehicle providing protection, Judith had to expend some of her energy to ensure Li Wei and Yasha's safety. The low-ranking lackeys wouldn't dare to approach recklessly; it would be a death sentence.

However, now that Judith had moved the battlefield further away, the local gang members saw an opportunity.

These guys took out firearms and started approaching the "Mustang."

To Li Wei's relief, it seemed these guys didn't bring heavy weaponry, not even explosives.

Hiding inside the car, the gang members of the Skull Gang held handguns. They posed no threat to both him and Yasha due to the Mustang's excellent bulletproof performance.

"Bang, bang, bang…" Many shots were fired, but the gang members realized their bullets had no effect on the heavily armored steel monster. Helpless, they came up with a new plan.

"Damn it…" Watching their movements, Li Wei shook his head helplessly.

These people actually removed the fuel tanks from their motorcycles!

Using fuel tanks as improvised bombs was a headache.

When those gang members removed three or four fuel tanks, Li Wei lowered the somewhat damaged but still sturdy car window.

Seeing some movement, several gang members aiming at the off-road vehicle raised their handguns and began shooting.

These gang members' shooting skills weren't impressive. None of them managed to shoot through the openings in the car window.

Li Wei wasn't afraid. He extended the barrel of his SN97 out of the car window, aimed, and pulled the trigger, firing several shots directly at one of the fuel tanks.

In this new era, with the cessation of petroleum and petrochemical extraction, the power source for vehicles certainly wouldn't be gasoline. However, the so-called "fuel tank" still existed. Whatever the substance inside, any object that wanted to move required energy. The motorcycle's fuel tank contained specially processed energy blocks.

The stability of white crystal energy blocks was much better than gasoline. If it were gasoline, shooting the fuel tank with a gun would produce a spark, enough to cause a complete explosion. However, energy blocks weren't as explosive.

But they could still explode.

When those gang members removed three or four fuel tanks, Li Wei focused on one and fired multiple shots. After being hit by numerous bullets, the fuel tank started emitting a blue light.

This was a precursor to the destabilization of the energy crystal block.

The gang members who were closer to it realized the danger and tried to run away, but it was already too late.

With a "bang," the fuel tank exploded.

Three or four gang members were directly blown away, covered in flames as they fell to the ground. Even if they weren't directly killed by the explosion, being engulfed in flames was fatal, and they wouldn't last long.

But this didn't mean the plan to detonate the fuel tanks had failed.

After firing many shots, Li Wei could only explode one fuel tank. Although he also targeted others, piercing the outer layer of the fuel tanks, he couldn't ignite them.

The two fuel tanks that he didn't manage to explode were now being carried very close to the "Mustang" by several gang members.

Li Wei sighed. There was no other choice; he had to get out of the car to deal with this. He wouldn't bet on the "Mustang's" defensive capabilities, and he certainly wouldn't stay in the car waiting for an explosion.

Taking a few seconds to check his firearms, Li Wei took a deep breath and kicked open the driver's side door!

Directly aiming at the pre-designated targets, his raised gun began firing!

Gunfire flickered, and in the rapid movements, Li Wei's actions were much faster than those ordinary gang members!

This could be considered a surprise attack. With his current physical strength far surpassing an ordinary person and his tactical proficiency as a former military elite, he had already fired five shots before those gang members could react.

Li Wei's marksmanship didn't need much explanation; his past skills remained at an elite level. However, relying solely on marksmanship, achieving precise accuracy in this dynamic battle without assuming a standard shooting posture was still not easy.

But who said he didn't have the Sharingan?

The unparalleled perception ability of the Sharingan added an incredible advantage to his marksmanship. Insight, lock-on, the precision of shooting doubled or even tripled!

These gang members weren't experts. Essentially, they were just street thugs at this level, a bit tougher than ordinary people. They lacked the defense capability against bullets possessed by high-level experts who had undergone extreme training. They also lacked the ability to dodge or even block bullets.

In front of firearms, they were defenseless.

So, five shots, five lives, no discounts.

After the five men fell, the remaining people finally reacted. Putting down the fuel tanks, drawing handguns, they fired a barrage of bullets at Li Wei.

But Li Wei had already kicked off the car and quickly moved to the side of the Wild Horse vehicle. The process was quite smooth, taking only a few breaths from shooting to taking cover behind the vehicle.

However, even so, Li Wei still took two shots.

These gang members were not experts, but they weren't so incompetent that they couldn't hit him at a not-too-distant range.

He was hit twice, one shot hitting the left forearm he used to shield himself. The defense ability of the Demon's Left Hand was outstanding, at least not inferior to that of an ordinary completed limit-evolver. The bullet didn't even penetrate the outer shell of the Demon's Left Hand.

But the other bullet caused real damage.
