Untouchable

Chapter 1

Chapter 1

Hayden

Everyone thought that seeing someone's past is a strength but for me, it's a curse. I never wished to have this kind of curse. I never wished to see someone's past by just holding their hand. I just want to live normally as other people do. How could I live normally if I'm still holding this curse since I was a kid?

Back when I was a child, I thought I was traveling every time I hold someone's hand. It's like I am traveling on someone's memories. I can also see secrets like, how they had their first kiss, and how they eat the native food of the first country they traveled.

It's entertaining for a child but for an adult like me—who wants to live a normal life—it's a curse.

"Hayden!" Fiona—my girlfriend shouted my name. She's running to go my direction. Her wide smile makes me calm as she holds my nape. "How are you?" she asked seductively. I bit my lip as I feel temptation with her voice.

She's any guy's, ideal lady. Excluding her glamorous face, she's good at fashion and decisions in life. I can imagine how I will stand on the altar while waiting for this beautiful lady to come—on how we will exchange vows and promises.

"I'm Fine, Fiona," I answered reasonably. She smiled at me. "What brings you here?"

"I'm just bored at home that's why I decided to meet my glamorous boyfriend. Would you mind giving me a kiss?" I lick my lip before my soft lips touched hers. It tastes like candies and berries. She carefully holds my hand as she plays with my biceps. I accidentally hold her right hand and I felt I was in a different dimension.

I saw Fiona walking with a guy, with their hands holding each other. They went inside a famous hotel in our place. They caressed each other's lip and they did they had to do. It's her past and she cheated on me. I don't know the exact day or date she cheated on me but that's what I saw the moment I clasp her hand.

I shook my head, getting back to the present. Fiona is still kissing my nape. I push her with all of my force. Her face suddenly turned into a state of shock. Her eyes are enlarged and her lips were bitten by her teeth.

"What happened, Hayden? Are you out of your mind?" she asked, pretending that she didn't cheat on me. I saw her past and I'm seeing anybody's past when our fingers interlace with each other or when our skin bulges with another.

"You cheated on me, Fiona. You did." My voice was weak when I blurted those words. I trust her that much to the point that I didn't think that she can do that thing. I just love her. I love every girl I had a relationship back then but I always ended up seeing their pasts and judging them from what they did before.

"How could I ever cheat on you, Hayden. I love you to the point that I could sacrifice my life just to save yours." She's still lying and I hate it. If I didn't see her past, I would definitely believe her. That's how much I love her. I am willing to believe every lie she can say. Even though I look like a fool for staying with her.

"You're with a guy and you went to Hotel de Leon one night. You did something there and you cheated on me. How could you do that, Fiona? I loved you from the bottom of my heart. How could you cheat on me? Why did you cheat on me?" Tears escaped from my eyes. I wish I couldn't see someone's past. I wish I could be just a normal guy who'll love without knowing what someone did on the days I am not with them.

Her face and eyes turn red. She's guilty of what she had done. She's guilty that she cheated on me.

"I-I'm sorry. I just felt some kind of spark with that guy. I didn't mean to cheat on you. I didn't mean to make you think that you're a fool. I love you, Hayden. You know that..."

She seems sincere with her voice but I just can't forgive her. Maybe, I still need time to think. Maybe, I still need to reconcile with myself. I need to know Hayden more.

"Fiona, leave." My voice was soft when those words escaped from my mouth. "I said, leave!" I shouted.

"H-Hayden..." she begged. I can see her teary eyes pleading on me to forgive her. She did what she did. "Hayden, please..."

"No, let's bid our farewell to each other, Fiona because I don't wanna see you again." I turn around and I walked away from her. I really hate seeing someone's past. What if Fiona accepted her mistake? What if she's going to change after what she did to me? I don't know. I'm just mad and I just wanna throw everything that sucks.

I decided to go to a bar to have a drink. Fiona made me think like this. I want to forget what just happened. I want to let go of all the pain I had today.

"Vodka, please," I requested to the bartender. He nods at me before handing the bottle of vodka. I smiled at him before gulping the drink.

I felt something inside my system. Like I was controlled by the drink. Some memories and happenings today are lost. It feels like I want to dance to the jazz music playing inside the club.

I dance and dance as if there's no one watching me. It felt that this world is away from all of the things are could destroy a person. It feels that this place is free from the curse I had.

The music playing on the background looks like it's from the '90s I didn't mind the music—I just love how the beats and music made me dance.

"Fuck this curse!" I shouted as if the people around me are deaf.

"Sir, I think you're already drunk. You should leave this place before we call the police." A fat security guard holds my arms. He carries me through the entrance of the club.

"What? I didn't do anything? I just wanna have fun." My voice was tipsy and the thoughts in my mind are exploiting. I don't know what I am saying or doing at the moment. The vodka I drunk was too hard for my system to control. It feels like I was decapitated by the drink.

"We ensure the safety of our customers and we decided to bring you out. You're already drunk and you didn't know what you're doing."

Fuck this guard. I am harmless. I just jump and dance along with the music. This club is shit. Why did I decide to go here? Why am I here anyway?

I showed my middle finger to the guard, not giving a care to his reaction and headed towards the parking lot. While opening my car door, I saw a woman holding back her tears while crying. She's sitting on the filthy ground while holding her dress.

"Hey..." I awkwardly said. She carefully raises her head on me. I was stunned when I saw her face. It's magical with those killer lips, deep-set blue eyes, and wedge-shaped nose. She's actually beautiful even though her face was full of tears.

"H-Hey," she answered. "Don't mind me. I'm just drunk." She smiles at me like there's no problem at all.

"I should give you a ride home. Come get inside my car," I mumbled. She slowly stands up while holding the lace of her dress. I didn't guide her while entering my car just because I don't wanna see her past.

We didn't talk while I was driving her home. She's just observing me while driving. Her place isn't that far from home. She smiled at me before getting out of the car.

"Thank you," she whispered. "Larissa." She handed her hand. Should I shake hands with her? I shouldn't because I don't wanna intrude on a stranger's past.

"Welcome, Hayden. Don't do that again next time, okay?" She nods at me. I closed the car's window before gripping the steering wheel. It's a miracle that I got home safely while drunk.

Larissa... She's astonishing.
