Chapter 8

Hayden

"Congrats to our team!" I exclaimed while holding a glass of tequila. The bar is crowded with a lot of people, most are teenager. There's a portion where you can dance and hang out with strangers and there were also couched like where we are sitting right now for you to relax. We had this little gift to our team because of the project we just finished doing. It's actually a big and a difficult project to handle since we're just a small company who offers photography services and such.

"This bar's nice. How did you manage to treat us here, Marky?" Leon asked our manager and friend Marky. He's also the one who's handling the different orders that the clients request. He's also the one who schedules the time frame of each project. Marky's also the owner of our little shop.

"Well, we've been not hanging out for a long time so that's why I decided to treat the two of you here in a fancy bar. I know that you've been waiting for this and this is my token of appreciation for the two of you for working hard under my little company." His voice sounds like he's drunk. Maybe he's already drunk. On the three of us, he's the one who drinks more than Leon and me.

I checked my phone if I received a message from Larissa. My face turned upside down when I didn't receive anything. We've been not seeing each other for a month. I'm always busy on my job and I still have a lot of important things to do. I should meet her next time. I should treat her again in a fancy restaurant. I miss her small chuckles and the way she holds the umbrella while walking beside the road and while waiting for me to arrive on our meeting place. There were no signs of her. I miss her as fuck.

"Whose message are you waiting for, Hayden boy?" Leon asked while offering a drink to me. I rejected his offer by shaking my head. I throw a sight on Marky who's being entertained by a girl. "Is it your girlfriend? Is she the one who called you while we're processing the pictures?" he chuckled. I think he's drunk giving his red face and voice.

"No. I don't have a girlfriend. Fiona and I already broke up. I'm waiting for a friend's message." Leon smiled at me as if he's thinking something. The problem with my friends is that they can't handle themselves when they're drunk. They have a low tolerance on alcohol so the tendency is that they might do strange thing or they might say an out of the world thoughts.

"A girl friend?" I nodded at him. There's nothing wrong on having a girl friend. Friendship is not limited on gender or race. It's a freedom on socializing with the people surrounding you. "Hayden has a girlfriend. Hayden as a girlfriend," he repeated for a lot of times with his childish tonal voice.

"It's a friend, Leon, not a girlfriend. It's not time to focus on those things. I still have a job to do in my life." I faked a smile at him. I interlace my fingers to the glass of tequila then I took a drink.

"Why don't you have a girlfriend? You're already twenty-five and you still don't have plans for exchanging vows. Look at me and Marky, we're both happy with our married life. It's a pleasure to go home with your kids waiting for you. It's a pleasure to be a dad, Hayden." I want to have a family. I have a lot of proposal and wedding plans with Fiona but all of that was ruined because of my curse. What if Fiona wants to change after he cheated on me? What if she has plans for the two of us? What if her cheating is just a one-time mistake? There were a lot of what if's bugging my mind right now. All I know is that she caused me pain.

"Don't worry about me, Leon. I have plans on marrying and just wait for it because you're going to be the Best Man." His mouth formed a letter o because of what I said. It will stop his thoughts about me. They shouldn't bug me about marrying. It's my choice. I averted my gaze at Marky who's eventually kissing a girl passionately on his couch. He has a wife and children. He's really a play boy.

"Dude, stop that," Leon said to Marky and his girl. They stopped and they both look at us. The girl stands up and she walks to Leon's couch. The girl's face is an inch away from Leon's. I was surprised when their lips touched each other and they crumble in the couch.

"What the fuck?" I cussed. "You two have wives already but you're making out with a stranger." Marky looks at me. His eyes were a flap and he has scatters of lipstick around his face.

"Dude, it's a normal thing. Men always cheat on their partners. Married life for us is just to secure that there will be a person who will take care of us when we're already old. You should also try kissing that girl and you won't regret it." I totally disagree with what he just said. Not all men cheat. I didn't cheat to any of my past girlfriends. It's always men's choice if they will cheat or not. I won't ever cheat on my future partner.

Leon and the lady stopped kissing. The girl threw a glare at me, walking slowly and sexy. She slides her hand on hips, trying to seduce me. She's going to kiss me when I pushed her away. Luckily, I didn't touched her skin that's why I didn't travel in the past. The girl smirked at me as if rejecting her is a sin. I stood up from my seat.

"I need to go home." I didn't look at their disappointed faces. I run towards the parking lot to get my car. I put the key inside the key fob and I drove home using my car.

The lights inside my house were all lit up. As far as I remember, I didn't lit all the lights when I came outside. I slowly walk to the door to open it but I jumped off from my shoe when it opened. A girl who's about my height is smiling at me. It was Hera, my sister! Why is she here?
