I went to biology class just in time to hear the biology teacher introduce her self as Mrs Amalu Rodriguez, I took my seat and waited for her to finish her introduction, apparently she is a new teacher, the last one was sacked according to her,so she has to lay down her rules and laws. 
I waited patiently as she scribbled down the topic for today on the board.

"Today's topic is Ecosystem, everyone bring out your book and Let us learn, ecosystem is the study of organisms in relations to there environment."

I am an art student, I do not understand why I have to take biology,and chemistry and even physics but it is compulsory for all department, even some commercial students are in this class.

But it is just we all have classes at different times but on the same day,I guess that is why Alero and I do not have maths class together, only on Fridays, just then a thought popped into my mind where is Debby gold?

I will just have to ask Alero and her friends about her, wait am I really considering sitting with them at lunch so we can hang as classmates, but what if they ask us all to go watch a movie what will I tell them, I can not leave the house for any reason, I am not allowed to leave the house without my step Father's permission first.

I tried listening to what Mrs Amalu was saying.

"Abiotic factors are the non living things in an ecosystem while biotic factors are the living things in an ecosystem. Biotic factors use Abiotic factors to grow, and live in an ecosystem and biotic factors are the primary producer,primary consumers, secondary consumers, tertiary consumers and decomposers, in an ecosystem."
Just as she said the last words I zoned out.

*flashback "
 "Hey Axymah come here, I want to ask you something." 

"Good morning Mrs Juliet, go on and ask me."

" I am taking my kids to the movies tonight will you like to come with."

"Really you want me to follow you to the cinema."

"Yes, have you ever been to a cinema before?"

"Yes but it has been over four years since I have been there."

"Why? does your father never take you out."

"He is my step father not my father and it Is nothing like that."

"Well if he can not take you I will take you."

"Will you come?"

"Yes of course I will."

"Okay, my kids will love you."

"Thank you."

"So I will pick you up at your house."

"No!"

"What? Why not?"

"Uhm well just stay around the corner of the street I will come meet you there, around what time."

"Okay, if you say so, around 4pm."

"Thank you so much."

"It is my pleasure."

"Bye have a nice day."

"You too Axymah."

I was smiling by the time I got home,I greeted my step father and i made lunch, by the time I was done he was no where to be seen, I really wanted to ask him if I could go to the movies with Mrs Juliet, I decided to go get dressed maybe by the time I was done he would have been back. I went to my room and went to pick out my best outfit a worn out turquoise short gown it is manageable and it was not even that worn out, I wore my worn canvas on it, I then went to the parlor where I saw my step father on the couch, I coughed to get his attention, he then shot out of the chair as he saw me, his eyes raked all over my body.

"Where are you going dressed like that?"

"I smiled and told him that Mrs Juliet wants to take me to the movies with her kids."

He moved closer and*wham*,he slapped me.

"What did you just say? huh repeat it I dare you, you want to go out and leave this house right."

*whack* another slap "You are not going anywhere."

*sia* just like that he tore my clothes,I will make sure that you never even think of leaving this house again, he took out his belt and *bam" he beat me with the belt, he kept hitting me and he tore my clothes completely and I was left naked he then took off his own clothes and plunged into to me hard, I kept begging and pleading but he did not listen not until I sighted Mrs Juliet standing there and staring in horror I called out to her to help me and she did, but it did not end well for her.
End of flashback. 

 Mrs Amalu's voice pulled me out of my thoughts.

"You all should go and read on the advantages and disadvantages of the following;competition,overpopulation...,we will be having a pop quiz about it in our next class."

*Ring*Ring* the bell rang for lunch time.

Should I go to them or the library like I planned? I reached my locker and kept my books in there, I strolled down the Hallway and into the cafeteria.

 I scanned the room for their table and I found it quickly, I walked over to them, as I got closer I heard them talking.

"What if she does not come?"

"Try to be positive for once Dinela." Said Austin.
I stood next to the table and they all looked up at me,Alero stood up.

"You came." Alero said.

"Of course should I not have come? I should go back?" I said and was about to turn around and leave.

"No please stay, seat."

"Thank you for coming."

"Do not thank me yet, I will only hang with you guys as classmates not as friends and on conditions."

They looked at each other sending a silent message to one another. "What is your condition? And what do you mean hang as classmates not friends"

"It means that we are going to be classmates not friends and we will hang as classmates only, my condition is that I will not go any where with you guys."

"How do you mean?"

"I mean you guys will not ever ask me to go anywhere with you."

"Why not?" They asked in unison.

"That is my condition do you agree or not?" I said and Dinela let out a sigh.

"Will you at least tell us why." They asked and I answered almost immediately.

"No!"

They seemed to be thinking of a good reason why I would have asked them for that but there is nothing I can do.

"Okay we agree to your condition, so now we can hang as friends right?" Said Austin.

"No we cannot hang as friends only classmates or schoolmates."

"What?!" Alero asked surprised.

"Whatever!" Dinela said with an eye roll accepting my condition.
Then she opened her backpack and brought out her lunch, the others did the same. I also took out my Nutella sand which.

"You also like Nutella?"

"Yes."

"But not as much as me, it is my favourite food or snack whatever you may call it."

"Azyma I want to ask you a question about what you said earlier said Dinela."

"Okay go on what is your question?"

"You said that your step father is a conservative man and he does not want you to have friends right?"

"Yes I said so."

"So what does your mum have to say about that?"

"I immediately choked on my lunch I never expected her to ask such a question."

"Alero interjected and told Dinela to not ask me that."

"I thought I told you to drop it so why are you asking her that now?" Said Alero.

"I am just curious to know, allow her to answer me."

"No! Azyma do not answer that question, Dinela never ask of such again." Alero commanded.

I was great full to Alero for stopping Dinela, I do not even have an answer for her question, I decided to play innocent.

"Its fine, I'll answer her question." I said with a small smile hoping Alero will stop me and like I thought she did.

"No Azyma you won't answer her!"

"What's the big deal in it Alero just..."

"Dinela!" Alero called her sternly and gave her a face that said that's enough, Dinela understood and dropped it, thank goodness.

"Enough of the questions and let us eat." Said Austin.

We ate in silence and Dinela started with her questions again, she started with small questions.

"What is your favourite color?" Dinela asked.

"Turquoise."

"How old are you?"

"Sixteen." I told her and she choked on her Nutella sand which.

"What?! really?! you look way older than your age."

"Yes! I know that."

She then asked me where I live, I was contemplating on whether to tell her or not, I just hope they do not come to my house.
I just remembered I did not put in my conditions never for them to come to my house,oh no.

"Azyma?! Azyma?!"

"Yes."

"You zoned out!"

"Oh sorry, what did you say?"

"I asked where do you live?"

"Wuse2."

I answered truthfully and she said it is not far from school about twenty minutes walk from here,yes I agreed with her, just as she was about to keep interrogating me the bell rang and I happily stood up and we all exited the cafeteria,we went to our lockers.

"We all have this class except Austin." Said Alero.

"Really? what do we have next?"

"Fishery."

"Okay."

I took my books out, and we parted ways with Austin, then we all went to class.

I felt bad for him, the only male in a female group, we entered the class and took our seats. You all know me, but let me reintroduce myself because some of you are new in this school.

"I am Mrs Princess hakim by name and I will be taking you fishery, today's topic is pelleted and unpelleted fish feed."

She explained the topic, and Alero and I started chatting, our seat was closer to each other so it was easier for us to chat but Dinela was sitting quite far from us.

"Who is that guy sitting next to west?" I asked Alero.

"That is Samuel Adam, West's best friend."

"Okay."

"He is so handsome and hot."

"Really? I do not see what you see."

"Of course you do not,you can only see what I see in him if you like him." Then she paused.

"What?" I asked.

"You do not like him right?"

"What! no I do not like him?"

"That's good."

"Why did you ask? Do you perhaps like him?"

"What! No!" She said with a blush.

I feigned a gasp you "You like him."

"No side talks in my class please." Said the teacher.

We lowered our voice as I tried to get her to admit it but she proved stubborn, that was how we went on for the rest of the class, chit chatting instead of listening to the teacher, I hope we don't regret it later on.

"Okay students that is all for today." The teacher said and we exited the class as the bell rang. We went to our respective lockers.

I checked my schedule and found out I only have Austin and Dinela in my next class, it saddened me,I was having physics next, oh God.

"What is wrong?" Dinela asked.

"I forgot to submit my physics homework during lunch today, you can take it to class and give it to him there, you are a new student he will forgive you, but make sure it never happens to you again." Said Austin.

"Okay, let us go to class."

"Bye."

I went into the classroom shakily where I saw the physics teacher arranging his desk.

"Uhm excuse me sir."

"Oh Azyma good afternoon sir, afternoon how are you? Your father said you were not feeling well."

I almost forgot that the principal called my step father.

"Yes sir."

"Okay how are you feeling now?"

"I am better sir."

"What can I help you with?"

"I came to submit my physics homework."

"Really?" He asked as he took it from my hand and glanced through it.

"I must say you are quite a strong girl, you managed to do your homework even though you were not feeling well, I applaud you, you may go sit."

"Thank you sir." I said and went to my sit and class went smoothly. 
I saw west steal glances at me,weird.

Today's topic is very boring, Electrolysis, I hope he does not give us homework work today.

"So as I round up the class I want you to do an experiment on electrolysis and submit it on Tuesday."

Everyone said "Yes sir" all at once, most of my prayers are never answered, thank God I listened to all what he said.
I left the class and I marched into the hallway and I found Alero and her friends,there, I went to meet them.

"Ready to go home?" asked Austin.

"No! What I mean is I have to submit my English report."

"Oh,I have to help my mom with something, I can not stay back." Said Dinela.

"It is okay you guys should go home I will submit it and go home as well."

"Okay,bye Azyma." Austin and Alero said in unison.

I went to Mr Walter's office and saw him buried in his work, I went ahead to  greet him.

"Good afternoon sir."

He looked up from his work and he greeted me back.

"Sir I am here to turn in my report of the story book better days Ahead that you were talking about in class."

"I asked you to turn it in yesterday, yes sir but I was absent from school,I was not feeling well,that was why I could not submit it at your stated time ."

"Drop it and leave."

Okay, I dropped it and I turned to leave but I stopped when he called my name correctly.

"Axymah?"

"Yes sir."

"How are you feeling now?"

"Much better sir."

He replied me with a curt nod and I left school and jogged home.
When I got home,the door was locked I guess my stepfather is not home, I took the key from under the mat and I entered the house, I did my usual routine.

I made lunch and I ate out of it, I took some pain killers to ease my aching head and I went straight to bed,I was so exhausted.
