Chapter Ten: Talk with Kate/Cheer Practice

Jennys POV

I turned to Kate and said, “Now I know we have had our problems. God only knows why you are so determined to sabotage and torment me to no end. But me and you need to get along for the sake of the team. Now what I said about you being one of the best cheerleaders on the team is true. Do not let your ego get much bigger because I complimented you.” Kate looked at me shocked like she was surprised that I was actually nice to her. She replied with, “You know the only reason I did all that sabotaging and tormenting is because I was jealous you got the spot as captain and I liked Tyler since middle school and you ended up being his girlfriend. He would never look my way.No matter how much I tried.” I felt bad for Kate because I never knew a rich girl like her could have those types of problems. I smiled at her and said, “well between me and you. He isn't that great of a guy. Also you are beautiful, you shouldn't be jealous of me. Now are you willing to put everything behind us. To start fresh? I could use a friend, since ya know Emily is not being the greatest. I also don't think our friendship can be salvaged after all that has happened.”Kate looked at me with a surprised look. She was not expecting me to offer to put everything behind after all that has happened the past few years she nodded and said, “I would like that. I do have one question do you like Jax?” I replied, “No as of right now we are friends. But I do have a tiny crush. I think I am swearing off boys for a while. Especially after what happened with Tyler and Emily. But why do you ask?” Kate pondered on whether she wanted to tell me or not and said, “Well you know my dad is super rich, what you don't know is that he is very controlling. He wants me to date and one day marry Jax to have a merger between Jax’s father and him. Jax does not like me because he thinks I am using him. I don't really want to do it. I have no choice in the matter.” I have sympathy for Kate. I never knew she was going through what she is.I always was daddy's little girl who used his money. I told Kate, “Well I do not honestly know how to help you but except I could try talking to Jax about your situation?” Kate nodded and said that would be helpful. I told her lets get on with practice. Kate and I went into the locker rooms and got changed and Kat and I stepped up on one of the benches and I started talking.

“Team now I am sure you are all confused on why there was a fight outside a few minutes ago. The truth is because Emily, your now former Co-captain, is not happy that I gave the Co-captain spot to Kate. Now the reason I had changed co-captains, not that I have to explain myself but it's because Emily decided that boys were more important than her team. Also that disrespecting me was right. You all know I do not do disrespect. Now enough of that. Your new co-captain is Kate. Lets welcome and congratulate Kate to her new position on the team. Now you all know that competition weekend is two months from now. Also the big homecoming game is coming up also. So we need to buckle down. For now on no boy drama or drama of any kind! This gym and our outside practice area is going to be a drama free zone!” I turned to Kate  and said to her, “Now will you get started with practice? I have to talk to Coach Jamie and once you get everyone settled you can join me.” Kate nodded and turned and started grouping everyone. I jumped down from the bench and headed to Coach Jamie's office. I knocked on her door and barged in and I was not prepared to see who was visiting her.
