Adele tried to contact her friend Sera, but she was not reachable. She even contacted her Martial Arts Academy, where she met Sera to know her address, but Sera had already left that house a short while ago. 

After learning about the moonstone and Samara, Adele spent a lot of time researching them. She didn't understand why, but she felt the instinct to be prepared for the inevitable. 

On the other hand, Adele made many attempts to get close to her mates. She approached them to make small talk on several occasions, but they didn't show much interest.

She enquired Maria about Chris and Liam's likes and dislikes to get to know them better.

Chris was a foodie who loved to try new dishes. Despite Adele's lack of cooking skills, she learned how to make Chris's favorite dishes from Maria. Instead of appreciating her effort, Chris ridiculed Adele for trying cheap tricks to get on his good side. 

On Liam's 25th birthday, Adele helped the pack members in organizing a party for him. Even though the pack members didn't like her interference and gave her disapproving glances, she didn't care because she was doing it for her mate.  

Her efforts were all in vain because even before she could wish Liam, he and Chris sneaked out of the party to spend some alone time. 

Not only did Adele's mates treat her like she didn't exist, but even the pack members were no better. After witnessing Adele and her Alpha's fight at the hospital, they thought she was arrogant and not a suitable Luna for their pack.

Above all, Adele's health was not the best at the moment. Adele was carrying twins, and during her pregnancy, Adele felt an urge to be alongside her mates. 

The twin pregnancy and the emotional and mental stress took a toll on Alexa more than Adele. She missed her family a lot, as in the Blackwood pack, she did not have anyone except Maria to support her. 

One morning, when Adele took a stroll around the pack grounds, she heard a scream.

Adele saw their gamma Trevor arguing with someone who yelled, " I can't get pregnant now."

Trevor suddenly slapped the girl across her cheek, and Adele rushed towards them.

" Why the fuck are you hitting her?" shouted Adele standing in front of the girl shielding her.

"She's my mate. I can do whatever I want to her," scowled Trevor.

Adele was shocked at his reply. " Being her mate does not give you the right to hit her."

" Don't interfere in our personal affairs, Luna."

" It's not personal when you are being violent with a pack member," replies Adele. She faced the girl and asked, " Are you hurt? What's your name?"

The girl shook her head and said, " I am fine, Luna. My name is Mia."

" What happened? What's all this about?" asked Adele.

Mia stared at her mate in fear, so Adele held her hand and assured, " Don't be scared. You can tell me."

" He is angry because I said I don't want to get pregnant now. I need some time."

Trevor got more irritated and screamed, " How much more time do you need? It's already three months."

Adele was appalled at Trevor's behavior. Mia was just a young girl who looked like a teenager. " How old are you?" Adele asked Mia.

"Seventeen," Mia whispered.

Adele faced Trevor and asked, " How can you force her to get pregnant? She is still so young."

" She does not want to get pregnant as she wants to go to college," said Trevor looking at Mia accusingly.

" So what's wrong with that?" questioned Adele.

" Why does she need to go to a college when all she has to do is take care of me and my family?" said Trevor indifferently.

Alexa, who was silent for so long, suddenly sneers, " This guy gets on my nerves. Let me punch him once."

" I wish, " Adele responded. 

" The members of this pack are worse than I thought," said Alexa with disgust.

Adele clenched her fist and spoke to Trevor. " That's absurd. What has Mia going to college got to do with taking care of your family? I am sure she can manage both quite well."

" It's me who decides what she can or cannot do."

"If she wishes to study further, then you should support her," Adele retorts back.

" That's not your concern, so please stay out of it. You have caused enough trouble for us," said Trevor with contempt.

Adele scrunched her eyebrow. " What do you mean?" 

" You disrespected our Alpha in front of everyone. You are a bad influence on the women of our pack. My mate never questioned me before, but now she is directly refusing me," says Trevor.

"I-It's not b-because of the Luna, I-I wanted t-to tell you earlier, b-but was s-scared, " Mia stuttered, staring at Trevor.

" You keep your mouth shut," saying this, Trevor raised his hand to hit her again, but Adele stopped him holding his hand and pushing him back forcefully.

Trevor was furious at Adele. " You..." he screamed and moved forward to punch her. 

Adele was ready for him, but Liam stopped Trevor by punching him in the face even before he could raise his hand.

" How dare you try to hit her," Liam yelled and punched him again.

Chris was standing there glaring daggers at Trevor. Mia was scared and crying for her mate but did not have the guts to approach her angry Beta and Alpha. 

Finally, seeing Mia's distress, Adele approached Liam. " Stop it, Liam; he's bleeding."

Liam immediately stopped. He was breathing heavily, trying to control his wolf, who was inching to come out. 

Chris's anger was now directed at Adele. "This is all your doing. It seems that you have a problem with everything that happens here."

" He was hitting his mate; I had to stop him, " Adele responds, shocked at Chris's accusation.

" That's their personal matter; they can resolve it themselves." 

" What kind of Alpha are you? How can you be so insensitive? Mia is also a pack member," shouts Adele.

" I don't need to learn that from you, " spats Chris.

Adele was about to respond when her phone started ringing loudly. She gets distracted and takes out the mobile from her pant pocket and sees it is her mom.

Adele's family didn't know about her relationship with her mates, so she left the pack grounds and ran towards her room to speak to her mom.

Once she reached the room, she picked the call. Her mom seemed very excited. " I am a granny now," she screamed in joy.

Adele's sour mood suddenly improved. " You mean... Daisy..."

" Yes, Ad, It's a baby boy. He's so cute and looks exactly like Axel."

" I am coming right now, " saying this, Adele hangs up the call and rushes towards her car to go to the Silverlake pack.

As Adele sat in the driver's seat, she asked Alexa, " Is it safe to drive now?"

" Are you asking me? Did you forget that I am a wolf?" says Alexa. " You are always busy researching about witches and vampires, but you never bothered to know about werewolf pregnancy."

" I thought you would know," Adele pouts.

" I know only about wolves, not the humans, and as far as I know, wolves don't drive," says Alexa sarcastically.

" You are so mean."

" Sorry, Ad, but we need to be more attentive towards our pups. Let's forget about Samara and the moonstone for now. It's a pity our mates are not with us at this time, but we being the mother, cannot be so ignorant," says Alexa sadly.

Adele signed. " Yeah... You are right. We can ask mom and Daisy about pregnancy, but how do we go there?"

" Ask Chris or Liam to drop you."

Adele thought it was a bad idea when Alexa spoke again, " Oh, so you're doing it again. You don't always have to do everything by yourself; it's okay to ask for help."

" Fine," Adele huffs and gets out of the car. She walks towards the packhouse and goes to Chris's office as she could smell his scent there.

She knocks on the office door, and Chris asks her to come in. As soon as Adele enters, she says, " I need to go to Silverlake pack."

Chris shook his head and signed. " Don't start again." He assumed she was angry because of their argument and wanted to go back home.

" I am not leaving this pack. I just want to visit."

" Oh...O-Ok," Chris says, a bit flustered.

" Can you drop me?"

" I am busy with something, but I think Liam could drop you."

Adele nods while Chris sends a message to Liam through mind-link.

While they were waiting for Liam to come, Chris stares at Adele's baby bump. The thought of being a father soon brought a smile to his lips. Adele saw Chris smiling and felt happy. It was the first time she had seen him smile, and right now, he didn't look like an arrogant and dominating Alpha. 

Their thoughts are interrupted when Liam enters the office. He looks at Adele and says, " Let's go."

Adele nods and moves to follow him when Chris says, " Take care of yourself and the baby."

Adele nods, smiling at Chris, and follows Liam out of the office.
