Chapter 008 What, Does It Hurt?

Giselle staggered backward as Carr approached. She could see the mockery in his eyes, which filled her heart with fear and panic.

So that was why he had decided to meet her in the hotel! Her body couldn't help trembling at the thought.

She wanted to run away!

But she couldn't. She kept telling herself she must stay.

The man in front of her was the only one who could save Randolph. She must do whatever she could to save her son!

Carr watched her expressions with a thoughtful smile on his lips.

"I promise, to be your..." Giselle felt hard to finish the sentence.

She looked down, her brows furrowed, and her hands were twisted with complex emotions.

She finished her sentence after a short pause, "Mistress."

What an ironic word that was!

She was his legal wife, the most intimate person to him.

But she was forced to act as a mistress of her own husband, in order to save her son.

"Does it insult you to be my mistress, my dear lady?" Carr sneered.

He slightly narrowed his eyes as he strode over to her, leaning over.

Gently, he brushed a strand of her hair to behind her ear, as a lover would do. But the coldness flashed in his eyes frightened her.

He studied her delicate face for a moment, his thin lips drawing near to her ear.

Giselle was bewildered.

She carefully turned her head and looked into his dark eyes.

She tried to find out a hint of his thoughts from his gaze.

Suddenly, fierceness filled his eyes. Carr pinched her jaw and said sharply, "On the contrary, it's too good for you, Giselle Lewis!"

"You'd better understand that you are nothing but a whore to me!"

He growled at her with fury burning in his eyes.

Giselle tried to step backward to free herself from his grasp, but she failed. He pinched her jaw with more strength.

"Does it hurt?"

His deep voice sounded softened a little, but his dark eyes showed no mercy.

"What do you want?"

Giselle managed to ask calmly. But she could hardly hide the trembling in her tone.

"Did I frighten you?"

Sensing her fear, Carr raised a cruel smile.

Giselle's hands gripped the corner of her clothes, trying to resist the panic the man had brought to her heart.

She felt like a toy held in his hand. And he could easily destroy her with the slightest exertion!

"Giselle Lewis, you're not the first one who dares to play tricks on me. But I must say you're the first one who succeeds."

Hearing his words, a deep sorrow flashed in Giselle's eyes.

Yes, he was tricked.

I was set up by the person closest to me.>

Suddenly, she raised her eyes and looked at him. She pulled down his hand coldly and said in a clear and nonchalant voice, "Mr. Jackson, I have nothing to say about what happened three years ago."

That was all she could say!

Because of Giselle's sudden resistance, the atmosphere in the room suddenly became tense.

"Hmph, of course, you have nothing to say."

Carr wore a smile full of mockery and continued, "Giselle, I will let you know the consequences of setting me up."

Giselle frowned slightly. What she was thinking was not what kind of revenge he would take, but a clear promise from him.

A promise that he would save Randolph.

"If taking revenge on me can make you feel better, you can do whatever you want, but you have to promise me that you will have the operation in two days."

The operation was scheduled by the doctor.

She came to the appointment this afternoon mainly because she wanted to tell him the time of the operation and get his promise.

"You want me to promise you?" A teasing light flashed in Carr's eyes. "Then let me see what you can do."

His eyes fell on her in an aggressive way.

Seeing this, Giselle subconsciously tightened her collar. Suddenly, she had the illusion that she was naked all over.

"I, I... Can you do it after Randolph's operation? I'll go to the hospital later. I promise I will do it."

She didn't want to have sex with Carr as she did three years ago.

Although she knew that she couldn't avoid it, at least she could hide for a while.

"You are in no position to bargain with me." He sneered as if he was laughing at her arrogance.

"Ten minutes, get in and wash up!"

Carr said firmly and Giselle knew that she couldn't get it away tonight.

No matter what she said, Carr would not let her go today.

"You don't want to?"

Seeing that Giselle was still standing there motionless, Carr became furious.

>

"I... Please. After Ray's operation, you can do whatever you want. I have to go back to the hospital tonight."

Giselle swallowed her pride and pleaded in a low voice.

"Very good."

Carr's indifferent words made Giselle's eyes light up.

But just as she thought that Carr let her go, she heard the cold and heartless words in his deep and charming voice.

"You can go now. Don't come to me for your son's operation two days later!"

His face was overcast with anger.

But even if he talked to Giselle like this, it was impossible for him not to appear two days later.

Although he didn't have any feelings for the child, Randolph was still his son.

He was not so cruel as to watch his son die.

Suddenly, when he thought that the little guy might die, Carr's heart skipped a beat.

A pain swept over his body in an instant!

Looking at the resolute expression on his face, Giselle felt a sharp pain in her heart.

She didn't doubt what he said, because she really had no other choice now.

She had to do as he asked.
