Clayton's POV
I've been running for about ten minutes now. I hope she likes this place. I found it when I was younger. Only my parents know about it. I can't wait for her to see the place where I go to just be alone. Now it will be our place. Never did I think that I would be able to bring someone here that is so special to me. Just before we got there I slowed down and stopped and bent down for her to get off.
"Do you know how excitingly freaky that was. It was fun but, freaking crazy at the same time." She smiled when she looked up at me. She stared into my eyes for a while. "Your eyes are gorgeous you know that. I love blue eyes." My wolf couldn't help but appreciate that our mate loved something like that about us. "They're like that crayon color. Oh what is it." She looked down and closed her eyes. She looks so cute when she's thinking. I feel like a freaking fruit talking like this about a girl. She's got me wrapped around her finger and doesn't even know it. "Cobalt." She made me jump as she pulled me out of my thoughts. She giggle. "Sorry I remembered the name. Anyways, you probably want your cloths." She reached in her back and wrapped them up. "I'll go put them behind a tree so you don't slobber on them." She laughed a little and walked away to the trees. She set them down and came back. "Alright you can go."
I stared into her eyes. I know you can only do mind linking when you mark your mate or if their in your pack. But, since she isn't a werewolf she isn't in my pack. So I'm just gonna see if I can pull this off. *Can you here me*. She put her hand up to her ear and looked around. Then back at me.
"That was weird I could have sworn I heard someone say something." She looked confused.
*Cause you can.* She looked around again. I bent down and nudged her hand.
"Is that you?" She looked at me confused again. I nodded to her. "You can speak to me in your thoughts. That's so cool." He brought up her hand and rubbed from the top of my head to my snout. "You know I don't ever have to worry about people messing with me anymore. Cause I got me a big strong werewolf to kick there butts." She did a light laugh. "Ok you better go get changed." I nodded and went behind the tree she put my cloths. When I got dressed I came back around and saw her staring up at the hughe trees. I snuck up behind her and wrapped my arms around her and she gasped. "Oh my gosh you scared me. Don't do that again. Remember my heart can't do that much excitment." She looked at me seriously.
"Oh yeah I'm sorry. Are you okay." I always forget that she's sick. She doesn't look sick to me. I think my mind just shuts it out. She's so beautiful I can hardly tell at all.
"Don't worry. I know you didn't mean to. Anyways where's this surprize you wanted to show me. I'm excited. I love surprizes." She smiled and grabbed my hand.
"I'm glad your excited. Cause I've been wanting to show this to my mate ever since I was little."
"Oh that's sweet." We started walking and I notice she kept stumbling over the branches. "Why don't you get on my back and I'll carry you.
"I'm sorry I'm really trying."
"I know you are. Just let me help you." She sighed and nodded her head. I turned and she jumped on my back. "You won't have to worry about that anymore soon you know." I said trying to get her to feel better about it. I started to walk as I got her situated.
"I was gonna ask you about that. I just wanted to know something."
"What do you want to know?"
"Well, when you change me. Does it hurt?" I knew this would be one of the questions she would ask. And it scared me to even thinking about her in that pain.
"I'm not gonna lie to you and say it doesn't. Cause it hurts like hell."
"Oh." She sounded nervous.
"Just know that I will be there the whole time. I would never let you go through something like that alone."
"I know you wouldn't. I'm just a little scared." It made my heart drop to know that she's scared about it.
"I don't want you to be scared ok. That's the only time it hurts. From then on you won't feel a thing when you shift."
"Ok well I guess that sounds better. So what about that mind thing how does that work?"
"Well, if you were marked I would be able to hear your thoughts. You could only hear mine cause I was in my wolf form. But, When I mark you we'll be able to hear eachothers thoughts in human or wolf form. Also where ever we are."
"So if I was at my house and you were at yours you would be able to talk to me through our mind link thing."
"Yes, I would be able to do that. It's usually used for if your introuble and you don't have any other way to call to anyone."
"So can you talk to people of your pack then to."
"Yeah, Only cause I have the alpha gene. You will to cause you'll be alpha female."
"What? I never even thought about that. Will some people in your pack be mad that I'm gonna be the alpha female." When she said that I couldn't help but, think about Tracy. She's tried to get me to mark her for a couple years now. I know she just wants to be the female alpha.
"Well there may be a few."
"Oh no are you serious. Then maybe I shouldn't be."
"Chandler listened to me. I want no one else to be my side in that position. Fate has put us together for a reason. There is a reason why your supposed to help me with this. I supposed to help you and you me. I won't be able to do it without you." Which is true. If she wasn't by my side. I wouldn't become the alpha.
"Ok, Well what are the duties of the alpha female then?"
"They take care of the well being of the pack. Make sure everyone has homes and is able to live. Checks up on everyone and makes sure all their concerns are brought up in meetings."
"So I have to go to meetings with you?" I chuckled.
"Yeah, that is one of the obligations of the alpha's."
"Do you ever feel like your gonna choose something wrong or anything."
"Yes, All the time. I don't know how my father has done this for so long. But, If I have you I'll be able to get through it." She leaned in to me and put her chin on my shoulder.
"Then you'll have me there." I smiled and she kissed me on the neck. I looked forward and noticed we where coming up to my surprized. I stopped and put her down.
"This is the surpized." She looks around.
"No. I need you to close your eyes and I'll carry you the few feet we have to go." She raised her eyebrow and shut her eyes. I picked her up and started to walk to the edge of the trees. I put her back down and turned her around. "Ok. Open them."

Chandler's POV
"Ok. Open them." I opened my eyes and I saw a little water going into this little pond. It was circled by huge tall trees. By the side of the water was a blanket with a basket on it. Oh how sweet is this.
"Oh my gosh Clay. This place is amazing." I couldn't get over just how beautiful this place is.
"I know. This is where I come to think. No one knows about it but, my mom and dad. Well now you to. I come here a lot." He started to pull me towards the blanket.
"Thanks for showing this to me." We got to the blanket and he turned to me.
"I want you to know everything that makes me, me. This is the number one place where I don't have to worry about what people think about me." He lightly smiled. I put my hand on his cheek and rubbed it with my thumb. He leaned his head into it.
"Do you know how amazing you are. I don't know how I was so lucky to find someone like you." He eyebrows raised.
"Chandler, I don't know how I deserve you. You are so much better than me. I don't deserve you. I've done stupid things I-." I put my hand over his mouth.
"Clayton, What you did in your past doesn't matter to me. I want you to forget about it to. Don't let anyone tell you that your lower than them. We're equals Clay. Don't forget that." He smiled under my hand. I took my hand away and stood on my tip toes and gave him a kiss.
"There's only one better person than me and that is you."I shook my head and rolled my eyes. He sat down and pulled me down onto his lap.
"So what did you make me. Cause I am starving." I looked at the basket. He chuckled.
"I know. I heard your stomach growling the whole way here." I smiled.
"Well then feed me then mister." He laughed as he reached for the basket.
"Ok I have my moms fried chicken and mashed potatoes. Cause there your favorite." I looked at him.
"How did you know they were my favorite."
"I asked your mom."
"Oh so you went all covert ops did you. Well let's see if these potatoes are up to my standards then." He opened the basket at set took out to containers. They were still warm. "How are these still warm?"
"My mom had just barely gotten back from bringing this up here when we got there."
"Oh that's so sweet of her. I'm gonna have to thank her." He reached back in to the basket. "Please say she remembered. Aha there it is." He pulled out a Dr. Pepper. "Your other favorite."
"You remembered." I took it from him and sat it to my side. I helped him open the containers and we just ate out of them. That woman knows how to make some dang good chicken. "This is freakin good."
"That's why I had her make. It's my favorite thing she makes."
"So it's all of our favorites in one meal. This is so nice. Thanks for doing this."
"I'd do anything for you." He smiled and I blushed a little. We continued and kept talking with eachother.
"I was going to ask you. Why where you so mean when I tried to talk to you the first time." I felt bad about that a little.
"Well, you kind of got me on a bad day. I was already mad my parents made me move here during my senior year. Then I knew what kind of guy you were and I just didn't want to deal with it. I'm sorry though. I guess I was a little to mean."
"A little. You didn't even know me and you shoved me out of the way." He started to laugh a little.
"Well who just stands in the middle of the walk way so someone can't get passed."
"A male werewolf who just found his mate." I gave him a weird look.
"You knew that fast that I was your mate?" He nodded.
"When I walked into the room I could smell you." What?
"You cold smell me. Couldn't you smell eveyone else to though."
"Yeah, But yours was stronger. When that Jasmine and Vanilla scent hit my nose I was in heaven."
"That's what I smell like?" I lifted my hand to smell it and he laughed.
"Only I will be able to notice that scent on you. Others will get a hint of it but, it won't be as strong as it is to me."
"So is that why you have a woodsy smell to me."
"You can smell that on me?" He looked at me weird.
"Yeah isn't that normal though. Cause I've never smelt anything like it. I first thought it was your cologne but, I knew it was something different. It's a lot better then any other cologne I've smelled before." His eyebrows raised with a smile.
"Really, Well your smell is the most amazing smell I have ever found. But, on with my story. I went to sit down and turned and saw your and right when I saw you my wolf told me that you were my mate." I scrunched my eyebrows.
"Your wolf. He talks to you?" He nodded.
"Yeah, It's pretty much our second side. We are one but, they are still seperate persons I guess you could say."
"That's cool. Will I have that."
"Yes you will."
"That will be interesting. I can't believe you knew that fast. When I saw you I knew there was something about you. I just couldn't place it. I think that's why I was rude to you. I was mad that I didn't know and I wanted to know. So until you told me I was just going to be mean."
"Well I'm glad I did tell you so you wouldn't be mean to me anymore." I remembered the night at Roxi's house when we started to get along. Then that Tracy girl popped into my head.
"I wanted to ask you about that Tracy girl." He looked annoyed when I said her name.
"I dated her for a while. After I broke up with her she hasn't stopped hanging on me and won't leave me alone. She was mad that she wouldn't be alpha female." So that's one of the people he said would be mad when I was the alpha to. "Stay far away from her. I don't trust her at all. She noticed how I looked at you the other night and that's why she was rude to you. She's a huge regret in my life. Please if she bothers you tell me."
"Ok, I don't want to go anywhere near her. I think her and Luke would make a good couple." He started to laugh.
"I don't even think I would unleash her on Luke she's so annoying. Although that actually would be a pretty good match. She does look at him weird. Hmm oh well." He packed everything back up into the bag. "So do you want to swim a little."
"I'd love to." We both stood up. Took my clothes off and slipped my shoes off. I turned to see Clay checking me out. "You know if you take a picture is lasts longer." He looked up and me and blushed. "Do you know how freaking cute you look when you blush. The beard just makes it better." I said as I put my hand on his cheek and rubbed my thumb over his beard.
"Do you really like my beard that much. Other girls say that is stupid." I raised my eyebrow and wrapped my arms around his neck and he put his around my waist.
"Well, They obviously don't know what makes a man sexy then. Cause it totally suits you. I can't imagine you without one. I mean there's a reason why my mother and your mother love our dads so much. Facial hair is freaking hot." He laughed.
"Don't ever say that my dad's facial hair is hot ever again. I don't want to know what my mom finds attractive about him. Ugh it makes me cringe just thinking about it." I laughed.
"Well don't get rid of it. Or I just might have to break up with you." I tangled my hands into his hair and pulled his lips to mine. I slowly kissed him and bit his bottom lip. Our tongues tangled together and soon we pulled away breathless.
"Kiss me like that all the time and I will never get rid of it." I giggled.
"Just keep it kept up nicely and you'll get those kisses all the time." A low growl came from his chest. "I love it when you growl at me like that. It probably should freak me out but, it's a freakin turn on." I laughed and bit my lip.
"You biting your lip is a turn on for me." I let go of my lip and smiled. I gave him another peck on the lips and turned to go to the edge of the water. I stepped in and noticed it was freezing. I inched my way further when his arms wrapped around me and I stopped.
"Let me help you out here with the cold." His warm chest pressed up against my back and began to warm me up. We started to inch further into the water until it was to our shoulders. It wasn't so cold now that he had me in his arms. I turned around in his arms and wrapped my arms around his neck.
"Why are you so warm?"
"It's a werewolf thing." He reached down and grabbed my legs and wrapped them around his waist. He was like my own personal body heater. I wasn't cold at all.
"I like it. Now I know who to call when ever I'm cold."
"I'll be there as fast as I can to help." I smiled and leaned my forhead into his.
"I can't believe my brother and Suzie are mates. How cool is that."
"You have no idea of how releaved I am to know that she found her mate." It looks like the weight of the world has been lifted from his shoulders.
"I know you are. I saw your face when they were talking."
"What did my face look like?" He pulled his head back to look at me better.
"Like the weight of the world was removed from your shoulders." He smiled.
"It pretty much was."
"I never thought I would ever see my brother like this."
"A mate can really change ya." He smiled.
"Not to much. Your still a smooth talker."
"Yeah but, you like it." We both laughed and just stayed there in the silence of the woods.
