Chapter Thirteen

 Clayton's POV
I haven't been able to get that song out of my head.
If any other person sang that song it would have affected me like it did. But of course, that's the song Chandler picked. The words of the song just keep playing over and over.
"Well, I guess we better get going.
" Chandler's father said.We finished dinner and we have just been talking about Suzie and Danny. We also talked about Chandler and I. I will never get tired saying Chandler and I. Waite I'm not ready for her to go. I looked over at her and she smiled.
"You can drive me home if you would like.
" Obviously she could tell that I didn't want her to go just yet. I smiled.
"I would like that very much.
" She smiled and shook her head.
"I'll be home in a bit.
Clay wanted to drive me home." I love it when she calls me Clay. Not even my friends or family call me Clay. I never thought I would enjoy having someone say my name this much. Her parents smiled and nodded and went out the front door. I pulled Chandler into me with a hug and burried my face in her neck. "What's this for?" She laughed. I brought my head up and looked into her eyes.
"Please don't ever sing that song again.
" She gave me a confused look.
"What.
Why?" Was she serious.
"I have nothing against the song.
It's amazing and you sang it beautifuly. It's just I can't hear you sing that song. Please just don't." She gave me a sad look.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean make you feel like that.
"
"It's fine.
I know I shouldn't feel like that it's just thought of... Never mind I don't even want to talk about that." I shook the thought from my mind. "Well we better get going then. We have school in the morning." She nodded and we walked outside. I opened the door for her and helped her in. I quickly went to the other side and got in.
"Thank you again for today Clay.
It's been a while since I've had such a good day." I couldn't help the grin that came to my face.
"Oh there's more of those to come.
They'll get even better with time." I wiggled my eyebrows at her.
"You know if I didn't like you, I would so smack you for that comment.
" She rolled her eyes. I just laughed.
"I guess it's a good thing that you do like me.
Although your smack isn't as good as your kick. So I wouldn't be to worried." I patted her leg.
"Oh really.
" She crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes at me.
"Yes, I've had both things happen to me.
I would so prefer a smack to a kick to the jewels any day." She threw her head back and laughed.
"I'll never forget your face when you dropped.
" I am never going to live that down with her.
"Was it really that memorable?
"
"Yes, Your eyes went wide and your face went bright red.
It took all I had not to laugh." She tried to hold back a giggle.
"You know your the only person who had ever dared make fun of me.
" I looked over at her and she had a huge grin.
"Only cause people are affraid to say anything to your face.
As for me, I'm not." My wolf both liked and disliked that our mate wasn't afraid off us but, she wasn't going to obey.
"No cause they no to respect me.
"
"You know Clay, fear isn't respect.
"
"What's that supposed to mean?
" I furrowed my eyebrows and turned to her.
"I totally understand that your supposed to be the leader Clayton.
You just use your position to your advantage sometimes." What! I do not that is a total lie.
"You don't know anything.
You've only been here for a couple of days and think that you know me. Well your wrong. I don't use my position for my advantage. People in my pack are loyal to me so they do what I say. You should learn from their example." Her eyes went wide and her jaw clenched. She turned her head to the window and shook her head. Why did I just do that. It was so good today and I just ruined. "Chandler I-"
"Shut your damn mouth.
" She said through her teeth. I pulled up to her house and she quickly got out and slammed the door shut. She hurried to her front door and ran in side. How could I be so stupid.

Chandler's POV
I ran to my room and slammed the door shut.
How could he say something like that to me. I heard my phone buzz.. Yeah if you think I am going to answer any texts or phone calls from you, you are sorely mistaken. I didn't bother looking at the phone as I sat it on my night stand. I quickly changed into my pajamas and got into bed. I'm so mad right now I don't even know if I can go to bed. I turned over and I coud smell his scent on the pillow from early today. Agh! I took the pillow and threw it across my room. I fell back down on to my bed and stared up at the ceiling. My phone started to ring. That's it I'm gonna give it to him.
"You know what Clay I don't want-"
"Whoa easy tiger.
Who's Clay."
"Kelly, Oh my.
I'm sorry. I thought you were someone else."
"Obviously, Who the heck is Clay and why were you going to yell at him?
"
"Ugh, It's a long story.
What are you doing right now?"
"Well, I was just gonna tell you that my parents said the I could come there for Spring Break.
"
"Oh that is awesome.
I miss you guys so much."
"We miss you to.
Lindsey, Natalie, Cassie, and Luke are seeing if they can come to. We all want to come and see you."
"That would be awesome if everyone could come.
It's been a rough few days here. It would be nice to see you guys."
"Yeah I bet.
So have you made any friends yet?"
"Yeah I have a few.
"
"Well, that's good.
I just wanted to check up on you. But, anyways I will talk to you soon. I can't waite for spring break. Good night Chandler."
"Goodnight Kelly.
Tell everyone hi for me."
"No prob chicky.
"
I hung the phone up and noticed that there was already eleven texts.
Good grief. Well, I'm not gonna read those and then go to bed angry. Kelly made me feel better. I put my phone back and layed back down and fell right to sleep.
*Next Morning*
I woke up happy but, then the thought of seeing Clay today ruined it.
I let out a long sigh and went to take a shower. I quickly showered and dried myself then I towel dried my hair and put a little bit of make-up on. I put on some jeans and a flowy red blouse with my leather jacket. I grabbed my leather boots and pulled them on. Yeah I'm wearing my sexy outfit today. I'm just gonna let Clay suffer for what he did last night. I shoved my phone in my pocket and went down stairs.I walked in the kitchen and sat down at the table. My mom turned and looked at me. She had a little smile. Before I ran upstairs last night I told her what happened. So she must know what I'm trying to do. She gave me a wink and sat at the table.
"Hey can I get a ride to school Chandler?
" I turned to Danny who was giving me puppy dog eyes.
"You actually want to go to school with me?
" Friday he would not even think of riding with me.
"Well Yeah, Is that ok?
" What has happened to my brother. He's never acted like this.
"Yeah, Sure that's totally fine.
" I looked over at my dad who's eyebrow was raised at my brother. See I wasn't the only one who noticed it. We ate breakfast and helped clean up. We headed out and got into the car.
"Chandler, Mom told me what Clay did.
" I looked over at him and he gave me a half smile as I turned the car on and pulled out. "Just ignore him, all though he won't be able to ignore you in that outfit you got on." He raised eyebrow at me and I laughed.
"That's the idea.
" He laughed and shook his head. We pulled up to school and got out. I met Danny at the front of the car.
"Mission accomplished.
" I looked at him confused. He smiled and nodded his head to point across the parking lot. I followed and my eyes landed on Clayton. Who had a hungery look in his eyes. I looked away and started to walk. With a little bit more than a normal sway in my hips. Danny started to laugh. "You are horrible." I looked back and smiled. We walked in and I met Roxi by my locker.
"Ok seriously what happened last night?
" She said as I opened my locker.
"Why?
"
"Clay came to our house last night and was pissed.
It took Anthony hours to calm him down."
"We got in a fight.
" Her eyebrow raised.
"What?
You two were getting along so good yesterday."
"Yeah that was until he opened his big fat mouth.
He told me that I need to respect him and do what he tells me to." Her eyes went wide.
"He said that to you?
" I nodded and then she looked me up and down. "Nice outfit choice. Make him squirm. I can't believe what a jerk he is." Her eyes went to look over my shoulder. "Jerk-alert." I turned my head and saw him standing at the end of the hallway staring at me. I turned back to Roxi.
"I'm glad I don't have to walk that way to class.
" She laughed. I grabbed my books and shut my locker and noticed he was walking this way now. I quickly turned and started to walk. Roxi turned and kept up with me. We hurried into class and went to our seats. He walked in and watched me on his way to his seat.
"I have a feeling this is going to be a long day for him today.
" She smiled at me.
"Well he deserves it.
I might even go for a week on this thing."
"You are so bad.
" She shook her head and the bell rang for class to start.
*three days later*
"I have never seen my brother like this.
He doesn't know what to do with himself." Luke said as we sat at the lunch table. It was raining today so we had to eat inside. To be honest I really did miss talking to Clay. But, I'm not going to do anything til I get an apology. I looked over at the table where he was. He had his chair leaned back on the wall with his eyes closed. He had dark circles under his eyes. Obviously he hasn't been sleeping. I did feel bad about that. "I know you miss him. Maybe you should talk to him." I looked over at Luke. Why does he have to be on good terms with his brother now.
"I'm still mad at him Luke.
"
"I know you are.
But, I know he's going to tell you he's sorry. He's been talking to Suzie about it the last few days. Just go, I know you want to. I'm actually surprised that you lasted this long."
"I think I liked it better when you two didn't get along.
" He laughed and picked me up off the chair.
"Now go.
" He pushed me into Clay's direction. I took a deep breath and started to walk towards the table. As I got closer all of Clay's friends eyes widened. I got to the side of the table Clay was at and I took my hand and brushed it across his cheek. His eyes flew open and his chair came down. I stepped towards him and sat on his lap and his eyebrows raised.
"Hey.
" I brought my hand to his Cheek and rubbed my thumb over it. He leaned his head into my hand. "We need to talk later today ok."
"Are you sure you want to talk to me?
" He looked sad. I haven't heard that voice in a while.
"Yes I am.
I'll come over to your house later ok." He nodded. "You should probably skip Chemistry and go home. You need to get some sleep Clay." I ran my hand threw his hair and he closed his eyes. I didn't realise how much I missed this. I went to stand up and he stopped me.
"Please don't go yet.
" He gave me a puppy dog look. How can I say no to that face. I would be heartless if I left right now. I lifted my arm over his head and wrapped it around his neck.
"Just for a moment.
You need to go home and get some rest." He nodded and put his head on my shoulder. I turned to his friends and they all smiled and some sighed. I looked around the lunch room and noticed a lot of people staring at me. Especially that Tracy chick. Hers is more of a death glare. I shrugged and noticed Clay was breathing evenly. I looked down and saw he was asleep. I looked over at Anthony. "Ummm he's asleep." He looked at him and laughed a little.
"He hasn't slept since Sunday.
"
"At all.
" He shook his head.
"No, he couldn't.
He's been beating himself up for what he said to you. Sorry about that by the way. It's just his alpha side speaking. I know that's not an excuse for anything. Don't be to hard on him though. Your really good for him Chandler. I've never seen him like this. He's never cared about girls like he cares about you." He patted my leg.
"I know.
I have been hard on him haven't I?"
"He needs it Chandler.
Your the first person not to obey his every command. He just needs to get used to it. He's not supposed to order you around." I smiled. Well at least I have Anthony on my side. I looked back down at Clay. He was dead asleep. I guess five days of no sleep can do that to you. I took my hand and and rubbed his face.
"Clay you need to wake up.
" Not a thing. I brought my hand to his shoulder and shook it. Nothing still. I brought his my other hand around and took his head in both my hands and gave him a light kiss on the lips. His eyes slowly fluttered open. "Hey you need to go home ok." He nodded and I stood up and he followed me. He could barely keep his eyes open. There is no way he is driving like that. "Let me have your keys." His blue eyes looked down and me confused as he pulled his keys out of his pocket. I turned to Anthony. "Hey could you have someone take his car home. I'm gonna take him home. I don't want him driving like this."
"Yeah no problem.
I'll make sure your checked out of your last class as well."
"How?
" He smiled.
"I have my ways.
It helps when the principal is like us." I nodded and grabbed Clay's hand and intertwined our fingers.
"Come on let's go.
" I pulled him along with me into the hallways. "Do you have homework you need to get?" He shook his head. Good now he can just go to sleep when he gets home. I brought him to my car and opened the door for him.
"Aren't guys supposed to open the door for girls.
Instead the other way around." He looked up at me as he got in.
"Yes but, if the guy is about to pass out from not sleeping for five days the girl has to take matters into her own hands.
" He let out a little laugh as I shut the door and got in on the other side. I started the car and saw him take a deep breath.
"I've missed this smell.
" I looked over at him and he had his eyes closed with a smile of his face. I smiled and turned forward and kept driving.
