Chapter 6

"What the hell is wrong with you, Loke? Are you going to ruin the reputation you've built for almost 10 years?" he throws another punch on my face but I just looked at him blankly.

"The famous author, TheLokes is spotted dating a high school girl. Are you nuts? Or just dumb? Fucking grow up, Loke." he kicked my stomach and throws me a punch until he is satisfied.

I coughed the blood that was stuck in my mouth the whole time. I looked at him and tries to stand up. I clenched my jaw and gives a deep sigh.

"I just gave her a gift," I explained.

"And you let her kiss you on the lips? Do you know what will happen after that? Fuck." he grabbed his phone from his pocket and called someone.

I landed on the sofa bed inside the office. I closed my eyes and let my heart thump in pain. I guess that will be the last day of seeing her face. I guess that will be the last time I can glance at her smile. I smiled bitterly and grabbed my fountain pen and let my fingers play with it.

"Please held a conference for tomorrow." Adriano, as he is eyeing my place.

"What?" I looked at him.

"What have you done?" he is asking me again the same question.

"That's not my fault. She kissed me. I didn't kiss back." I looked at my pen.

"Dumb as fuck." he stormed out of the room, leaving me.

I sighed and rested my head on the sofa. I looked at the ceiling and let my eyes follow the traces of the design on it. My phone suddenly rang. I looked at it and saw Erelah's name on it. I stared at it until the caller's name was gone. This is not a good time for both of us Erelah. I'm already on the verge of death.

A message pop out on my notifications. I looked at the sender's name and it was Erelah. I sighed in disbelief and grabbed my phone to read what she texted.

Erelah: Hey, I'm sorry for what happened. It's my fault. Please forgive me, Loke.

I stood up from the chair and throw my phone on the trashcan. I leave the office. As I walk down the hallway of the building, all I can hear are gossips from the company staff.

"Is he dumb? The girl is only 17. He's 36.

"Is he aware of what he's doing? Tch. Famous people are idiots."

"The girl kissed him first. He has no intention of kissing that kid."

I stared blankly while walking. Letting those foul words from their mouth out of my ears and not letting them in my head. I clenched my fists and walks out of the building. I looked at the blunt, gray skies and feeling the cold breeze of the night. I mourned in annoyance because of what happened. I worked for it for almost 15 years, 5 years of having a degree in literature, and 10 years of working my ass off in writing those novels. In a single kiss, my career will come to an end.
