Chapter XIII

I woke up at the sight of light, from the rays of the sun, shining through my window. As I turned to the other side of the bed, facing the door, I noticed Peter stormed into my room.

"Get UP! It's Nine!"

"So! We don't have to be at work until two. Go away and let me sleep, at least until eleven anyway. Yesterday was just a one time thing, so calm down and go back to bed."

I lowered a little of the blanket to see Peter standing in front of my door with his shirt half way covering this chest, holding his pants. He stepped on his pants and at the same time covered his mouth as he yawned.

"Oh, Okay."

He turned to leave, dragging his pants as he closed my bedroom door behind him. I heard him as he slammed his bedroom door close as I yawned. Placing my hand back under the cover to continue a dream before my thoughts slowly started to fade away. How annoying was it for Peter to just come in and interrupt. I felt like I was enjoying it. I closed my eyes and smiled, as I remembered that according to yesterday, I now have a boyfriend. I slipped back into my dream exactly where I left Judith and Linda, we were taking a stroll but then they vanished and there I was with Bruce eating Ice-cream.

"I love Ice-cream."

I heard my bedroom door being to open. So I took my hands from inside my cover, grabbing my pillow and throwing it at who ever was at my door.

"Donna! Get up or both of you will be late for work!"

"Mom? No its Nine..."

"NO, It's eleven thirty."

I opened my eyes wide and quickly rolled out of bed as I heard Peter fall from his. He started whining that he hurt his head. I pushed the uniform I used the day before to the side and took the clean one that was folded at the end of my bed. Mom just stood there tapping her foot until I smiled at her and picked up the dirty one. I throw it on the plastic container that contained the rest of the dirty uniforms and dresses from the week before. I put my uniform on and just like that, the week began. Three weeks have gone by and Bruce and I have been getting to know each other more and more. During that time I've learned to Bruce lives with his Aunt and sister and that he also doesn't like chocolate Ice-cream unless its melted on top of vanilla like me. Also, I found that we can all hang out together in a group but Judith has to be reminded that Sam is her boyfriend and not my brother. She doesn't seem to understand which is why Peter stopped talking to her. Sam started to notice a pattern and their relationship ended not too long after. Everything felt as if it was happening too quickly but I was so happy. Bruce started picking me up from home so Peter could go on and pick up Linda, they seemed so happy. Peter and Bruce would sometimes hanged out but neither would ever tell me what they talked about, just out and about being goof balls together.

"Donna!"

I turned and I could see two tall figures covered completely in black start to walk towards Linda and me as we walked towards the restaurant.

"Didn't you say Peter was on his way?"

"Yeah, He should already be here right now I mean he left at the same time I did so how can we be here before them. I forgot to ask them what they wanted to eat so we could order their food and they could just get here and eat in peace."

Lina tightly gripped her bag and held it close as she continued to look behind us. I tilted my head and looked back at the two man who, with what seemed to be their hair covering their faces, getting closer, I saw one of the figures drop something on the ground and proceeded to just stood their with no emotions. It wasn't until a car passed by with its lights on that I noticed it was Peter that had dropped, holding a blank stare. Before even I reacted, Linda was already in front of me running towards him and I was reminded of the incident of the burning house a while back.

"He's out of it Donna what do I do?"

I looked at her as I got beside him.

"Grub his hand and help me sit him on the side walk."

Bruce waved at us as he got closer until he saw what was going on. Then he came sprinting, so he could help us with Peter.

"What happened?"

"I don't know he dropped something than he just zoned out. Donna has he done this before?"

Linda asked with consern.

"Yeah, Once! A while back on our way home and a house was on fire and he tried to run towards the action with no emotion on his eyes. He said that we would talk about it but he never got around to it and I thought it didn't matter since it only happened that one time well, until today."

Bruce exhaled pulling Linda away from him as she was already crying as I swayed from one side to the other not knowing what to do.

"I think he's just in shook I can't help but think this is because he was in the war."

"He wasn't in it for long."

"I know but who said you have to be in a war for a long time for it not to affect you in any given way. He seems as if he saw something more than just... Actually what did he see?"

I looked up as another car passed by, hitting us all in the face with its lights, causing Peter to flinch.

"Ah, That's weird! Maybe the flash of light looked like something he seen during the war."

"Maybe."

Then I thought to myself, mabye he saw a flash of light when the ship took the hit.

Linda got closer to Peter touching him on the cheek making him jump up off the sidewalk as we jumped scared at him.

"What's with you guys?"

"Dude, you zoned out as if you saw some shit. What happened?"

Bruce demanded to know. He looked passed us into the restaurant right as another car began to pass by and started tapping his foot as he took a hold of Linda's hand, placing it over his leg.

"I'm okay now let's go eat!"

Bruce just let it be as the cold breeze came upon us. Peter looked at Linda with a smile kissing her on the forehead. Bruce smiled walking in, hugging me from behind as he placed his large coat on me. Placing his head on my shoulders, keeping me warm as we walked, almost falling into the restaurant. We laughed as Peter and Bruce threw Jokes at each other. It became clear to me, that the flashes of light had an effect on him, as a passing car's bight lights flickered threw the window.
