Chapter XVI

"Two lips must insist on two more to be kissed Or they'll never know what love can do, to each his own, I've found my one and only you."

A song that we had been singing in our heads all day was playing on the radio as Bruce and I danced in the center of the kitchen. Bruce held me close as we danced cheek to cheek to Eddy Howards voice.

"Your white hair looks beautiful D.W.B."

I held him tightly with my eyes closed as he did the same, as we twirled into the dinning room; a room full of emptiness, what now seems to be empty anyway. I looked around the room as time passed and our children grew, met love and got jobs. I looked at the wall beside our front door, hanging up was Bruce and my certificates that showed degrees that brought us closer together.

"Do you still see age?"

"I never did Donna, I just saw you, I wasn't looking for anyone at the time, but I wondered if my soul was? I love you my Donna my one and only."

I walked into the living room as every step made me older, seeing pictures of Bruce and Susan as he walked her down the aisle with Mary beside him holding Peters arm. Who would have thought they would become such good friends that they got married on the same day.

"I really didn't see this coming."

I remember like it was yesterday, as Bruce Junior and little Peter were right there clapping away with happiness.

Bruce followed me up stairs as another song began to play on the radio. As we got to the middle of the stairs, Bruce and I paused as we smiled at a picture of Bruce Junior and it's first born baby boy two girls and another son. As we got closer to the top of the stairs and passed, all the pictures, it truly showed just how much time had passed us by. With such beautiful memories to see our grandchildren grow up and see even more of the world.

He laughed as we got to the end of the stairs and turned to our room.

"Put your head on my shoulder, hold me in your arms, baby, Squeeze me oh-so-tight, show me, that you love me too. Put your lips next to mine, dear, Won't you kiss me once, baby? Just a kiss goodnight, maybe, You and I will fall in love. (you and I will fall in love)"

"I love you Donna."

"I love you Bruce."

"I love you D.W.B"

"I Love you B.B"

We began to laugh as we went into our room. We sat down on the bed just to let ourselves fall back and began to watch the ceiling.

"Ouch..."

Our bones made noises as we laid in bed and laughed. I turned to him as my memory turned back time as I looked at his face and he looked at mine. He ran his fingers through my hair and smiled as he than got close and kissed me.

"Who said that an age difference of five years changed how a relationship works?"

I looked at him and then made my eyes cross as I looked down at my nose making him laugh.

"You're an old hoot."

We closed our eyes as we held hands while we listened to the radio, still playing down stairs and a new song began to play. I saw the light as I felt him take my hand with him there. He was 19 again and I was 24... the same ages we were when we meet. We walked together into the light as he twirled me and danced just as we did when we were younger. I then smiled at the sight of My mother and father dancing next to us.

"Oh Donna Oh Donna... had a girl Donna was her name Since she left me I've never been the same 'Cause I love my girl Donna, where can you be? where can you be?"

I held Bruce tight as I looked down below to see Peter there with Linda smiling up at the sky as he held an Ice-cream cone.

"I can wait, you take your time."

"Now that you're gone I'm left all alone all by myself to wander and roam 'Cause I love my girl Donna, where can you be? Where can you be?"

I danced along to Richie Valines voice as Bruce twirled me into my fathers hand and my mother took Bruce's dancing away.

"Well, darlin', now that you're gone I don't know what I'll do all time and all my love for you I had a girl Donna was her name Since she left me

I've never been the same 'Cause I love my girl Donna, where can you be? Where can you be?"

My dad passed me back into Bruce's arms as he held me tightly with the same smile that I felt in love with.

"You know this song is very old."

"I know but I thought it would be the perfect one for you since at the end Donna is your name my love."

I smiled at him as tapped me on the head and an Ice-cream cone appeared, we twirled and twirled cheek to cheek.

"Oh, Donna, oh, Donna, Oh, Donna, oh, Donna, Oh"

He placed his forehead on mine as we danced as he held me tightly.
