The funniest thing happens today. I get to meet miss glitter.

Remember? the red head who left a glittery love letter in Kyle's locker. A wide grin sprawls on my face as i walk up to the petit girl in the corner of the library with her nose buried in a book.

"hey " she doesn't respond. She just keeps reading, her eyes scanning the page like a computer server. I doubt she even notices me standing in front of her.

"hey " i repeat a little louder this time, making her fidget and look up at me with her her book landing soundly on the titled ground.

Her ginger red hair is packed up into a loose pony tail, her eyes a dark shade of brown, small pointy nose decorated with light freckles along with her hallow cheeks and her rose pink lips pressed tightly together.

I haven't really looked at her from close proximity before so now i can actually asses her features, i have to admit, she's really pretty. And has that modelic look, with high cheekbones and hollow cheeks, except for the many freckles scattered around her face, which honestly makes her even cuter.

I almost swear she looks really familiar, like I've seen her from somewhere before but i can't put a finger on it.

She immediately averts her eyes from me and picks up her book, hugging it tightly to her chest. " d-do you w-want som-something? "

She stutters looking flushed. Hmm, she's an interesting one.

"yeah actually " i say sitting beside her. She shifts farther away from me, hugging her knees. "your name "

"huh? " she still doesn't look at me. Her eyes are stuck to the ground like glue.

"what's your name? "

She spares me a short glace and goes back to staring at whatever it is that's fascinating her on the ground. "M-Mona "

I smile looking at her, she's definitely a junior. that i know for certain. "you can look at me Mona, i don't bite "

She slowly looks up at me, an unsure smile on her face as she takes in my appearance.

"I'm..."

"lexa, i know " i lift a brow at her interruption. I didn't think I'm popular around here. "t-this is a-about him i-isn't it? " her cheeks are tinted red.

"no, if you don't want it to be "

"h-how did y-you k-know? "

"it's not really hard to miss, with the way you keep staring at him guring lunch breaks "

She groans, palming her face. "I'm sorry, didn't mean to come off as a creeper "

I'm slightly stunned that she didn't stutter one bit and has her legs dropped now, she's actually looking at me without shying away.

"that was a dare, my friend Jenny won't stop pestering me about it since she found out i have a crush on him. "

Jenny? Jenna Marbles?

My ex arch nemesis? On her part not mine.

"you're friends with the science geek?" i smile, to show her i mean no harm with that sentence.

Her light chuckle catches me off guard. "best friends actually " it's the first time she's really smiled, i spot dimples, her smile is warm and beautiful, it's the kind that can brighten up a day just by having a glimpse at it, it's the type that can lure a dozen passerbys to stop and stare, and for a moment, i find myself drawn to it. So i decide at that moment to play matchmaker. That was never my intention at first but seeing the gleem in her eyes as she talks about her best friend, that hates me by the way, i think i already have her figured out.

She's the type that gets uncomfortable with people she's not used to. That explains the excessive stuttering and flushing, but then again, she gets the hank of people really quick and is really easy going once she gets to know you.

She's just in the middle of her story on how Jenny practically dragged her to Kyle's PE class the other day with a bunch of sweaty and hot teenage boys to confess her, quote on quote, "undieing love " for him, which is, quote on quote, "so... Not true " when someone from the tables whisper yells at us to keep our voices down.

Mona cowers and has that flushed look on again, squeezing her knees to her chest. "so-sorry. "

I stare at this girl in fascination. One minute she's shy and nervous and the other she's bold and laughing, saying things like "she sucks big time " .

"why didn't you ever tell him? I mean actually tell him, like face to face interactions, not with pink letters covered in glitter. "

She flushes a deep shade of red and bows her head "because it won't make a difference "

I frown "what makes you say that? "

She looks up at me, accessing my face carefully and then shakes her head with a shallow sigh "you don't know do you? "

My frown deepens "know what? "

She doesn't say anything she just keeps looking at me like she can't believe what she's seeing, but then a noise from outside the library draws her attention. It's a female voice, one that she looks like she recognizes, and before i know it, she's running outside the library to the already crowded corridor and i follow behind her.
