032

I didn't pick up, just in case you are wondering. I don't know why Andrew would be calling me. He never has before. Wasn't he supposed to be on his honey moon or something?

I brush the thought out of my mind and tune in on the conversation before me.

Alice holds up two dresses looking from me to the redhead sitting by my left in Ali's bedroom. "i was going to go dress shopping with you, but you've been so busy with God knows what, that you barely reply my messages and i couldn't wait till someone else got the ones i wanted " she says to me.

My face twists in sympathy. "I'm sorry, it's just with the on going exams and all, i rarely have time for anything, and Kyle keeps forcing me to sleep."

It's true. Exams are almost over and honestly I've never been more stressed about anything before. And with the spare time i have, i hang out with Mona, if Kyle isn't bugging me about one thing or the other that is.

Turns out Mona's actually more than what i thought. She wasn't joking at all when she told me she has a temper. The other day she broke a guys nose outside a small super market when he tried physically abusing her.

He'd been drunk out of his mind and seen a shy smallish girl and thought he could get away with whatever not know that other impulsive side to her.

I remember the first time she and Alice met, just a few days ago. They hated each other. Alice thought she was one of those girls that can't speak for themselves, I'm pretty sure she'd silently been wandering why i even hang out with her. Mona on the other hand saw Ali as one of those rich snobby cheerleaders and that was enough for her to decide she completely despises her.

Two of them together in a room was a steam of so much tension. Until Alice decided she wanted to hand over her judgmental witt and Mona lost it, putting my friend in her place there and then. Just like she did with her sister in the hallway last week, except with less cussing and swearing.

Then surprise, surprise, they formed a bond over witt. I still don't get what that means.

"You've already done your prom shopping? " Mona asks lifting a brow.

"Of course i have. Who do you think i am " Ali says in a duh tone.

Prom.

That's right, we'll be leaving highschool in a couple weeks. I wonder why people stress so much about that, to me there is really no big deal about prom but my friend here Carrie's it like some kind of crown on her head.

Like The one she plans to wear on said event. She has always wanted to be prom queen and she always was, but this year is more special to her since it is grad year.

"so... "Ali moves the dresses closer to our view. "which one? "

The one to her right is an off shoulder, bright red waist flee floor length dress with black lace designs. While the one to her right is a backless and sleeveless, body hug, golden floor length dress with a high slit to the left.

Ali has always had a great taste fashion wise. I can't possibly choose from this two master piece of fabric.

"Um... It's gorgeous? " i suggest. They both shoot me a look that makes me sink dipper into the fluffy mattress and keep shut.

"I love them both!" Mona says using her hands to straighten the faint rough creases on the red one "I love the embroidery of this one but I feel like a lot of people would be wearing red, it's an attractive color and really catchy but it's better you stand out than a blend in with rainbows right?"

Alice along with myself turn to look at Mona with raised eyebrows. She had a point, a brilliant one.

She looks up at the both of us as if saying 'doh!'  "I have like a million fashion magazines up my wall and I'm a lover of fashion mind you, I even follow up your 'match it' blog." She said that last statement directly to Ali.

I look down at the pair of washed denim pants and white tee she has on and contemplate her words for a second.

She burst out in light chuckles looking between the both of us. "I know what you're thinking. Don't you know you should never judge a book by its cover?"

" Yeah but well... I judge every book I read by its cover." I say.

" And I don't read books to begin with" Ali adds.

" Good point." Mona agrees.

"But do you really?" Ali asks "you really follow up my fashion blog?"

" Yup!" She says " I think what I love most is your color matching. It's brilliant!"

I watch as a huge smile spread around Ali's lips and next she drops the dress on the mattress and sits directly opposite her new friend. Just like that they are bonding over dresses and shoes.

"So for the party next week, I was thinking maybe an outdoor pool party yeah, with a lot of German wine and beer. And you are definitely invited" Alice says the last sentence directly to Mona.

" Wait, what party?" I ask.

She flips her hair and turns to look at me "my end of year party of course."

"I thought that was meant to be after prom?"

She rolls her eyes "Trevor  Turner is already throwing this huge after prom party and I don't want that to ruin my plans, I've been planning this since sophomore year and nothing is is stopping it from happening.

"Oh then, you guys have fun."

"Yeah, we are going to have so much fun."

"I'm not coming."

" Yeah right you are!"

" No I'm not."

" It's not negotiable Lexa."

" Seriously?!"

" Yes, seriously." She exaggerates on the last word. And I groan.

" I don't even have a swimsuit."

She stands up and heads for her closet. " I knew you were going to say that so..." She disappears into the open space and walks back out with a two hangers. On one was a cute yellow trunk with an ex at the back and florally decorated tips. The other was a marine blue bikini. "I got you these. Make your pick."

"Is this really necessary?"

She gives me a look that says 'NONE NEGOTIABLE!' so I give in with a sigh.

"Besides," she says "I need you as my chaperone. There is this really cute guy that I'm hoping to see."

I lift a brow. New guy? That's pretty fast. " What new guy?"

"His name is Sean, he's in freshman year of Collins University. Extremely hot, and an amazing kisser." She says with a smirk, biting one side of her bottom lip with mischief in her eyes.

Okay...

I'm a little more surprised than I should be. I honestly didn't expect her to move on so quickly. Or maybe this guy is just some kind of distraction for her. Either that or she finally realized she only wanted Finn because she could not have him.

I don't ask any further, I just put my attention on Mona who is now trying a pair of Ali's snickers, that she never wears May I add.

It's a black convers, with a White Nike check by the side.

"Like it?" Alice says to Mona.

"Yeah it's catchy" she replies taking it off and placing it back where she picked it from.

"You can have it if you want. I've never used it and I don't think I will."

" You sure?" Mona asks and Ali chuckles lightly.

" Yeah."

"Thanks."

I excuse myself when my phone starts to ring and a small smile forms on my face when i see who is calling.

Kyle and I haven't really spoken much lately, we've both been busy with our own thing and our own world that we barely talk much even though we are living in the same house.

A part of me kind of thought at a point that he was ignoring me but I don't see any reason why he would so I brushed the thought away. Besides he still never fails to bring me dinner in bed every night when I'm too caught up with studying that I forget to eat. Then he would pass me two small peanut packs and tell me not to stress too much with the regular kiss on the forehead and goodnight.

So I was really glad he was calling. Not to mention it was an escape from joining the other girls to dress skyp.

"Hey."

"Where are you?" I asked.

"On my way to come pick you up. Ali's right?"

"Yeah. She'll go crazy on you if you interrupt girl time."

He scoffed " do you really want to stay there checking make up magazines and dress skyping?"

" No?"

" There you have it. I need bestie time, be there in a few."
