The Fifteenth Day: 6 April 2020

The Fifteenth Day: 6 April 2020 (51,608 confirmed infected, 5,373 died, in total)

"Over the course of this afternoon, the condition of the Prime Minister has worsened and… he has been moved to the Intensive Care Unit at the hospital." – 10 Downing Street Spokesperson

It seems that the Prime Minister is facing a real test. Fortunately, he does not need a ventilator yet. As Chinese cases suggest, most of those who put on a ventilator deteriorated and lost their hopes soon, only few of them survived.

My job requires me to post and courier documents from time to time. Post offices in London have imposed social distancing rules, too. Every 2 metres a yellow line is drawn, where people must line up and stay behind their own lines. Opening hours are shortened, so at any time a long queue can be expected.

To minimise the contact with people and the time staying outside, I decided to try the post-box not far from our home for today’s documents. The label on the post-box shows that letters are still being collected every day.
