Chapter 32 An Unexpected Encounter

Jiang jingrun nodded. Her mother had lived in the Jiang family for so many years. Jiang Jingrun knew exactly what kind of person she was, but he didn't understand why Jiang Zhongyong divorced her before but didn't marry anyone else since then.

"It's all over. Just let her send him off." Jiang Jingrun thought.

He propped himself up with a crutch and said to Jiang Jing, "You can ask your mother to come in and send your father off."

Although it was at her father's funeral, Jiang Jing was overjoyed when she heard her grandfather say that.

She didn't mess up her mother's expectation of coming to her father's funeral. Although it was a sad thing, but it was also the only thing that could make Jiang Jing happy for a second.

Jiang Jing looked up at Fu Jinrong, who had been standing beside her all the time. Fu Jinrong also nodded slightly at her, "Go get mom here."

Jiang Jing trotted out the door and found her mother who was waiting for her.

"Mom, let's go in. Grandpa agreed."

"Really? Did your grandpa really agree?" Her mother seemed doubtful.

Jiang Jing nodded solemnly, "Yes, he agreed."

Jiang Jing helped her mother into the funeral parlor. Her mother was exhausted these days, so she carefully supported her mother to prevent her from falling down.

She brought her mother to her grandfather. When her mother saw Jiang Jingrun, her feelings went out of control again. Tears welled up in her eyes, "Dad."

Seeing mother of Jiang being so haggard, Jiang Jingrun's heart was very uncomfortable. He helped mother of Jiang to stand firm and then comforted her, "What's done is done. Just send him off. I believe he also wants to see you once again."

Mother of Jiang was speechless. She could only nod her head silently, indicating that she would be ready for the final farewell.

Jiang Jingrun then signaled Jiang Jing to take care of her mother, and then went to the lounge alone. He wanted to take a quiet rest first. There were too many people outside, and his heart was too cold. His heart had already cooled down with the death of his son.

Jiang Jing asked her mother to stand between herself and Fu Jinrong, while Jiang Zhongyong's body was lying quietly in a crystal coffin not far from them.

Seeing the crystal coffin, mother of Jiang subconsciously tried to walk up towards it. Jiang Jing noticed her mother's action and shook her head at her mother, "Mom, don't worry. When the funeral is over, I'll accompany you to see dad."

Mother of Jiang nodded. She told herself not to think about Jiang Zhongyong in the crystal coffin. She told herself to send Jiang Zhongyong off in her calmest state.

Fu Jinrong looked at the label he was wearing. It was in black and white with "Son-in-law" on it. He then looked at the label Jiang Jing was wearing, with "Daughter" on it.

The two labels were given to Jiang Jing and himself by the ceremony company just now to separate the relatives from ordinary guests. But mother of Jiang was standing here without any label indicating that she was Jiang Zhongyong's wife. Fu Jinrong felt that it was inappropriate.

"Ask the head of the ceremony company to come over." Fu Jinrong told his assistant standing not far away from him. He would usually bring his assistant to such a busy occasion.

The assistant nodded then trotted backstage to find the head of the ceremony company.

"Mr. Fu, I heard you were looking for me?" Hearing that Fu Jinrong was looking for him personally, Manger Wang from the ceremony company came over as fast as he could.

Fu Jinrong was still holding mother of Jiang. He asked, "Do you have any more labels?"

Manger Wang was confused by Fu Jinrong's sudden question, "Beg your pardon?"

Fu Jinrong frowned, "Do you have any labels for family members like what I am wearing?"

Manger Wang glanced at the label of "Son-in-law" Fu Jinrong was wearing and realized what Fu was talking about. But he shook his head as if he had thought of something, "No, we prepared those labels exactly according to the number of your family members. There's no other else."

"Don't you have a label for wife?" Jiang Jing felt a sudden surge of anger in her heart. She subconsciously felt that the ceremony company didn't prepare her mother's label intentionally.

Manger Wang seemed to sense Jiang Jing's anger. He quickly waved his hand, "No, it's not that we forgot to prepare. Miss Jiang, you have to understand us. We all follow orders."

"Follow orders?" Fu Jinrong understood what Manger Wang's words meant. He thought for a moment and then asked, "Whose orders did you follow?"

Manger Wang hesitated, "Well..."

"Am I not qualified to know?" Fu Jinrong's voice turned cold. He knew that if he didn't threaten the manager, the manager would probably fool them.

How dare the manager offend Fu Jinrong! He hesitated for a while and then made up his mind to tell the truth. "Mr. Jiang ordered it."

"Mr. Jiang? Jiang Zhongheng?" Fu Jinrong actually had guessed that it should be him; he just wanted to get the final confirmation.

Manger Wang nodded and continued, "Originally, we would have prepared a lot of labels for all possible relatives, but Mr. Jiang told us not to prepare the label for wife."

After Fu Jinrong heard this, the corners of his mouth curled up. Jiang Zhongheng had really thought carefully. He even thought of such a way to hide mother of Jiang's identity from the guests even though she came to the funeral.

"Is this Jiang Zhongheng so childish? Does he think that I can do nothing to change this situation?" Fu Jinrong thought to himself.

Looking at the black-and-white label Jiang Jing was wearing, he suddenly came up with a solution.

"Do you still have such a label? I don't need it be for wife. Anything else is fine." Fu Jinrong asked Manger Wang.

Manger Wang thought for a moment and nodded, "Yes, there is still one for daughter."

It must be prepared for the missing Jiang Ru. Since Jiang Ru did not show up, it was okay to use the ready-made label.

"Give me that." Fu Jinrong ordered, and then said, "And get me a writing brush and ink as well."

Black and white were the most important features of funeral, and ceremony companies always prepared ink well. Fu Jinrong was not worried that they would not have it.

Manger Wang nodded quickly, "Okay. I'll get someone to bring it here. Mr. Fu, wait a minute."

After Manger Wang brought the label and prepared paper and ink to Fu Jinrong, Fu Jinrong turned the label over in front of everyone and wrote the word "Wife" on the back of the label with a writing brush.

Then he personally put the label he made on the spot on mother of Jiang.

All the guests present saw this scene. Some people were still wondering who the woman standing next to Miss Jiang and Fu Jinrong was. Now Fu Jinrong's actions had already made it clear to everyone that this woman was Jiang Zhongheng's wife and Fu Jinrong's mother-in-law.

There was no need for any introductions. His action was enough to show how much Fu Jinrong valued and respected his wife's mother.

Jiang Zhongheng also saw everything from the side. He could only watch coldly as Fu Jinrong messed up all his plans.

Jiang Jing had mixed feelings. She knew that Fu Jinrong had been trying to help her and her mother come to the funeral these days, but she never expected Fu Jinrong to do such a thoughtful thing.

Her heart was warming up. She felt like being flooded by a wave of happiness.

The next second Fu Jinrong looked at Jiang Jing, and Jiang Jing silently thanked Fu Jinrong. "Thank you."

Fu Jinrong got it according to the shape of Jiang Jing's mouth, and he smiled slightly to show that he had received this heartfelt gratitude.

If it was a normal day, Fu Jinrong might have deliberately joked with Jiang Jing to gain some attention from her, but on such a serious occasion today, Fu Jinrong knew what he should do.

"Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you very much for coming to Mr. Jiang Zhongyong's funeral..." With the opening speech of the host, everyone at the scene stopped talking and stood solemnly.

Jiang Zhongheng helped Jiang Jingrun to stand across from Jiang Jing and Fu Jinrong. As Jiang Zhongyong's wife, mother of Jiang Jing stood in front of the portrait of Jiang Zhongyong, receiving everyone's condolences.

Following the order of daughter, son-in-law, father, brother and wife, the guests paid their condolences to them one by one and then bid farewell to Jiang Zhongheng's body lying in the crystal coffin.

The Jiang family was well-known in this city, and almost all the celebrities in the city came to attend Jiang Zhongyong's funeral. Jiang Jing could not count how many people had stopped in front of her and how many words of condolences she had received.

Jiang Jing had received her father's death; after all, dealing with her mother's matter had worn down her pain, but the words of condolences and the atmosphere made Jiang Jing's tears fall again.

"Ru, don't be so sad. I believe Uncle Jiang will be at ease in heaven." Jiang Jing's body stiffened when she heard this voice.

Jiang Jing looked up and saw someone she never expected to see at her father's funeral.

"Ru, it's me. Han Cheng. Do you remember me?" Said a man with a delicate face in a polite manner.

Jiang Jing had now recovered from the shock, but her heart still got touched, "How could I not remember?"

This Han Cheng was Jiang Jing's ex-boyfriend. Jiang Jing had not seen him for a long time since they broke up. She had never expected them to meet again on such an occasion.

She met her ex-boyfriend at her father's funeral, and her ex-boyfriend even thought she was someone else. What a farce!

Jiang Jing nodded unnaturally, "I know you."

"Do you know where your sister Jiang Jing is? I didn't see her today." Han Cheng said and looked around, but he still didn't see the person he wanted to see.

Jiang Jing tried to calm herself down and answered, "No, it's been a long time since I contacted her. She's not here."

"How could it be? How could Jing not come to uncle's funeral? Is something wrong with her?" Han Cheng asked anxiously.

Fu Jinrong was so careful and sharp. Although Jiang Jing had never mentioned the man to him, he had already guessed that this man must have had an relationship with Jiang Jing.

He intended to stand by and see what was going to happen, but when he saw Jiang Jing's expression getting more and more unnatural, he couldn't stand with it.

"Sir, save your words until the ceremony is over." Fu Jinrong said to Han Cheng.

Han Cheng turned to look at Fu Jinrong and found traces of anger in Fu Jinrong's eyes.

"This Fu Jinrong is Jiang Ru's husband. Why would he be mad at me?" Han Cheng couldn't figure out what Fu Jinrong was thinking.

But every word Fu Jinrong said was appropriate, and it was indeed not a good time to chat. He could only nod his head and then said to Jiang Jing, "Okay, Ru, I hope you can wait for me after the ceremony. There are something I want to ask you about your sister."

Jiang Jing nodded and agreed. In fact, if Fu Jinrong was not around at this time, Jiang Jing would probably reject Han Cheng directly. But because Fu Jinrong was around, she knew that she could not be too obvious.

"Should you explain to me?" Fu Jinrong asked Jiang Jing in a low voice after Han Cheng left.

Jiang Jing did not expect that Fu Jinrong could figure out the awkward relationship between her and Han Cheng from just a few words of conversation.

She tried to calm herself down and pretended there was nothing serious. "I have nothing to explain."

"But that Mr. Han just asked where you are!" Fu Jinrong deliberately raised his tone.

Jiang Jing glanced at Fu Jinrong. She saw Fu Jinrong's dark eyes, which were like the stars in the night, shining brightly.

"He's my ex-boyfriend. We haven't been in touch for a long time." Jiang Jing said as if nothing had happened, but her fingernails pinched her palms.

Fu Jinrong seemed to have guessed, "Okay, I know. Is there anything else?"

"No, that's all."
