Chapter 37

Mother of Jiang didn't say anything. Jiang Jing said to Jiang Jingrun first, "Grandpa, I don't want to have a baby for the time being."

"Oh, why?" Jiang Jingrun raised an eyebrow. Obviously, he couldn't understand Jiang Jing's idea. In his eyes, Jiang Jing married into the Fu family just to secure the status of the Jiang family. And giving birth to a baby for the Fu family should be the best way.

Jiang Jing looked at Fu Jinrong beside her. Fu Jinrong did not speak, nor did he give Jiang Jing a look. He just looked ahead calmly, as if he had nothing to do with what was being discussed.

"Fu Jinrong and I just got married. Our marriage is not stable. I don't want children yet. I'm still young. I think I can do something in my career. If I have a child at this time, it's bound to become a hindrance."

Jiang Jing explained word by word, regardless of whether Fu Jinrong would agree with her.

"You, you, you really piss me off." After listening to Jiang Jing's words, Jiang Jingrun could not wait to take a crutch and hit Jiang Jing directly.

Jiang Jing remained silent and did not move her steps. She listened quietly to her grandfather's scolding.

At that moment, Fu Jinrong finally said, "Grandpa, forget it. Jing is still young. I don't think I'm in a hurry."

"See, Fu understands you. Jiang Jing, can you be responsible? As the eldest wife of the Fu family, you should give up the idea of having a child. You are utterly unreasonable." Jiang Jingrun pointed at Jiang Jing with a cane in his hand.

Jiang Jing lowered her eyes and looked at the black high-heeled leather boots on her feet, silently circling the ground with her toes without saying a word.

"Dad, don't be a child. I'll take care of this. I'll try to persuade Jing. Don't worry." Mother of Jiang saw that the old man really seemed to be angry and anxious, so she quickly stepped forward to comfort him.

Just as everyone was talking over Jiang Jing's unwillingness to give birth, the door to the lounge was knocked on.

"Bang - bang - bang", three rhythmic sounds rang out on the door.

"Please come in," Jiang Zhongheng said to the man outside the door.

As soon as he finished speaking, the door of the lounge was opened and a middle-aged man appeared outside.

"Mr. Jiang, we are about to proceed with the last procedure. Everything is ready for the funeral. Shall we start?" The middle-aged man's voice was exceptionally low, which matched his identity.

Everyone present quieted down. Everyone understood that the middle-aged man indicated that Jiang Zhongyong's body could be cremated.

Although the Jiang family had experienced the pain and suffering of Jiang Zhongyong's sudden death. Seeing Jiang Zhongyong turn into ashes was hard for Jiang Jing to accept.

Jiang Jing saw her mother clenching her hands, struggling painfully.

"Mom, why don't I take you home first?" Jiang Jing walked to her mother and tried to persuade her to leave first.

Mother of Jiang shook her head and looked at Jiang Jing with slightly wet eyes, "No, I'll stay. I want to see your father leave."

Jiang Jing knew that her mother had made up her mind this time. No matter how hard she tried to persuade her mom, it was useless. So she could only nod and agree to her mother's request.

To her surprise, Jiang Jingrun said first. He clung to his walking stick and said to the staff of the funeral parlor, "Okay, we're all ready. Let's do it now."

Jiang Jingrun had to see his own child being cremated. The pain in his heart was hard to imagine. But he knew that he couldn't be depressed, or the Jiang Corporation would really be over.

In the crematorium of the funeral parlor, Jiang Zhongyong's body was slowly pushed in. The Jiang family watched as Jiang Zhongyong's body turned into a pile of ashes and disappeared into the world forever.

Mother of Jiang suddenly fell into Jiang Jing's arms.

"Mom, mom, what's wrong with you? Don't scare me," Jiang Jing screamed in panic. The mortuary staff had already seen too many of these situations. They quickly brought in the emergency medicine box and carried out the rescue. Fortunately, mother of Jiang was just grieving too much and she was recovered after being treated.

"Your father is really gone," mother of Jiang said to Jiang Jing when she woke up.

Jiang Jing's tears flowed down like spring water. She no longer paid attention to her makeup. She touched the corner of her eyes and said to her mother, "Mom, I know you're sad, but you still have me. You can't leave me."

Mother of Jiang closed her eyes and muttered, "But I'm really tired. I want to go with your father."

"Mom, don't scare me. You must be fine. Dad has already left. What should I do if something happens to you at this time?" Jiang Jing held her mother tightly, as if afraid that she would suddenly disappear.

"The ashes of the deceased are here. Sorry for your loss." The mortuary staff handed Jiang Zhongheng a red wooden urn.

As soon as Jiang Zhongheng held the urn in his hand, Jiang Jing took it away. Jiang Jing would never allow anyone who might have killed her father to hold the urn.

"Ru, what are you doing?" Jiang Zhongheng looked at Jiang Jing innocently. He couldn't show his true color in front of Jiang Jingrun.

Jiang Jing held the urn tightly in her arms, shook her head stubbornly and said, "Nothing. I just want to hold my father."

Even though she already knew that Jiang Zhongheng had something to do with her father's death, she must not alarm Jiang Zhongheng and make him suspicious.

So Jiang Jing tried her best to make herself look like she was over grieving over her father's death. She was only being childish and she didn't bear a grudge against Jiang Zhongheng.

"Uncle, I'm sorry. Please forgive Ru," Fu Jinrong quickly persuaded.

Under the circumstances, no matter how unsatisfied Jiang Zhongheng was with Jiang Jing, he would not say it. Moreover, in light of Jiang Zhongheng's character, he was really being generous.

"Hey, what a big deal. I've always regarded Ru as my own daughter. How could I be angry with Ru?" Jiang Zhongheng tried to stroke Jiang Jing's hair, but Jiang Jing dodged him.

Jiang Zhongheng's hand remained awkwardly in the air, but he still pretended not to care and greeted everyone with a smile, as if he were the leader, "Let's go to the cemetery. Let's bury big brother first."

Fu Jinrong also grabbed Jiang Jing's shoulder, "Uncle is right. Let's go bury dad's ashes first. We'll talk about it later."

Jiang Jing listened to Fu Jinrong and nodded softly, "Okay, I'll listen to you."

Jiang Zhongheng's tomb was chosen at Liuxian mountain, which located on the outskirts of the city. The Fengshui there was the best in the city. Jiang Zhongyong personally selected the place where he was hospitalized.

"Will your father like it here?" Mother of Jiang saw Jiang Jing put Jiang Zhongyong's urn in. Her tears welled up again.

Jiang Jing hugged her mother and comforted her, "Yes, mom, It is the place dad chose himself. He will definitely like it."

Mother of Jiang noticed that there was an empty grave beside Jiang Zhongyong's grave, and her eyes were fixed on it. Fu Jinrong noticed mother of Jiang's gaze. Thinking of what Jiang Zhongyong had told him before, he quickly explained.

"Mom, dad chose this cemetery for you, because he didn't know if you would forgive him afterward. Therefore, he didn't set up a joint tomb. He always had you in his heart, so he placed one beside his own grave."

This was what Jiang Zhongheng told Fu Jinrong before. Fu Jinrong saw that Jiang Zhongheng didn't mean to explain, so he took the initiative and explained everything.

Fu Jinrong hoped that mother of Jiang would be relieved to send Jiang Zhongyong away. After all, this couple had loved each other for a lifetime, but they failed to spend time together.

Mother of Jiang looked at Fu Jinrong and smiled. Even though she was still sobbing, she felt much better after hearing what Fu Jinrong said.

Jiang Jingrun clubbed his crutch with his hand and said to Jiang Zhongheng, "Ask someone to change your brother's tomb into a joint burial tomb so that your sister-in-law can be buried together with him in the future and they will never have to separate again."

All the people present were shocked by Jiang Jingrun's words. Jiang Zhongheng hesitated for a long time and said, "Yes, yes, but they are divorced after all. Is this appropriate?"

"What's wrong with that? I can decide. Are you okay, my daughter-in-law?" Jiang Jingrun turned to ask mother of Jiang.

Of course, mother of Jiang was happy to hear that. She shook her head vigorously, "Of course not, dad, thank you."

"No thanks. We are a family. I'm just fulfilling my son's last wish." Jiang Jingrun let out a long sigh.

But Jiang Zhongheng didn't want to give mother of Jiang the chance. He then said to Jiang Jingrun, "But dad, this other cemetery has been bought. If we put it together, wouldn't it be a waste of this cemetery?"

"How can it be wasted? Sell the cemetery that I prepared before and give it to me. I will be buried here in the future. I want to be closer to my son in the future." Jiang Jingrun looked at the picture on Jiang Zhongyong's tombstone and felt heartbroken.

Jiang Zhongheng had no choice but to agree. He did not want anyone present to be happy, but he still had to personally make arrangements one after another.

"It's okay. Let's wait and see." Jiang Zhongheng thought.
