Chapter 10 I Still Have Feelings for You

Who was he? Could he have something to do with Alice?

While Jonathan was thinking of this, Luther, the steward, had opened the door. Jonathan hid the password card and calmly entered the villa.

"Is grandma asleep?" Jonathan asked casually.

Luther said, "One of her friends broke the leg. She insisted on visiting the friend and left early this morning. She will come back for dinner tomorrow morning."

Jonathan continued to ask, "Have my parents been here?"

"No, it's almost the end of the year and there are a lot of social gatherings for them."

(Sure enough, the information is accurate.) He ordered, "Okay, time for bed. I need a rest too."

Ever since Harvey had a son in his middle age, Jonathan had been living in dark days. He offered to live with his grandma to show his filial piety, though she was a cold and eccentric person. It had been more than ten years since he lived in the same villa with her.

Jonathan wanted to move out and live by himself, but his grandma always cried because of it, saying that he was an ingrate. He had no choice but to continue this life.

Actually, his grandma was not simple. In the Pack family, she was the serpent that came up with all the wiles and sent others to implement them. Therefore, Jonathan lived a difficult life.

After taking a shower, Jonathan lay in bed thinking about what happened today.

At two o'clock in the morning, he received a text message, which exactly came from the phone number on the card.

"All the surveillance cameras in the room have been cut off. You can act now. "

The message sent a chill through Jonathan's back. It seemed that he was under surveillance, but he couldn't find who was spying on him.

He waved his hand in front of the infrared alarm outside the window. Sure enough, the alarm was not set off after two red flash. The content of that message was true.

Jonathan sneaked into his grandma's room and opened the safe box easily after trying twice.

There was some priceless jewelry in the safe box and a file bag. Jonathan's heart beat faster when he opened it. There was a contract in it.

Jonathan kept calm. He took out his phone and took pictures of all the contract pages. After doing these things, he returned the safe box to its original state and retreated.

In his room, Jonathan couldn't fall asleep the whole night. Although darkness blurred the pictures, he could recognize the handwriting. His hands trembled as he looked down. He didn't turn the phone off until he saw a few ID numbers.

Jonathan dialed that number and the call was connected.

"Are you done?"

"Yes, is your boss Alice?"

"Yes. The monitoring system has been restored. Don't go in again."

"Give me her number. I want to contact her."

The man sighed and said awkwardly, "She is stuck in the Laris family. You'd better save her."

Jonathan snorted, "Me? How? Why?"

"As long as you're willing to go, things will fall into place rapidly."

"One more question, why did Alice drag me into this?"

The other side was silent for a moment and said, "She said it was not easy to find someone she trusted. At least you two are familiar with each other."

Jonathan's mental defenses were pierced by the young man. He said, "How should I address you?"

"Justin."

"What should I do?"

"Go to the Laris family once daylight comes out. Someone will help you."

"And then?"

"Take Alice back to Hillside Hospital."
